Hampton Sun: Sun Tanning Lotion SPF 30

One of my biggest concerns is suntan lotion actually sticking. I've been disappointed by many products but recently came across Hampton Sun: Sun Tanning Lotion SPF 30. Now, this lotion sticks.

Hampton Sun is positioned as a luxury brand and is sold at Neiman Marcus. Also, if you've been to St Barths, you know they have a monopoly down there. I like how they come in 4 oz sizes, which technically you can't take as carry-on at airport security but I was lucky enough to pass, just so I don't have to check luggage (I've found that 4 ounces is no big deal from the accepted 3.4 oz).

Aside from Hampton Sun: Sun Tanning Lotion SPF 30 ($35) actually sticking, it absorbs quite rapidly. There's no gooey feeling and it also doesn't smear or rub off. It's like something from the future, really. There's also some great antioxidants and natural ingredients here that help benefit your skin, like Vitamin A, Vitamin E, VItamin C and Vidtamin D3. Aloe vera and jojoba oil help smooth and soften and heal.

Having said that, there's some ingredients you'll have to deal with. Fortunately, the first handful of ingredients are all safe (or relatively safe) according to Cosmetic Database, aside from triethanolamine, which is a surfactant. There's also four sunscreen agents, most of which are fine, although you know what we think about oxybenzone. While it's safety has been debated over, FDA approved products with 6 percent or less of oxybenzone, and there's 6 percent here, so thankfully that made the cut. There's also two parabens, which just so happens to be in only one product I chose out of the entire line (all their products other than the Sun Tanning Lotion SPF 30 is paraben-free). But again, I was completely happy with the product, how it stuck and you didn't feel any greasiness or that messy complex that comes with other products. Also, it worked. No sunburns.
