I so wanted to love this product. At 40 years old, I'm pretty happy with the state of my skin, but I am plagued with forehead lines. They are a part of me, so I have learned to live with them. That doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t welcome a product that would lessen them. This was not that product.

This Hyalogic Episilk Facial Relax Serum ($39.95) promises to lessen the appearance of wrinkles while moisturizing the skin. The hyaluronic acid in the serum does an excellent job in keeping my skin soft and moist. With the crazy winter weather we have been having this year, this was a plus and a much needed benefit. The serum also includes the wrinkle-reducing hexapeptide, Argireline®, which is purported to be an alternative to Botox. It works to relax facial tension, leading to the relaxation of those muscles that contribute to lines and wrinkles. Perhaps it takes longer than the month I used this serum to see a difference, but I saw little effect during my use. I used it twice a day following a moisture mist as instructed. I did not use it in conjunction with Episilk's Coenzyme Q10 Serum ($39.95 in the shop) or Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum ($59.95 in the shop) as recommended. Since the instructions recommended using in conjunction with another serum that contained hyaluronic acid, I did combine it with my Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum ($34 in the shop) at night. I used the Episilk serum alone in the morning with my moisturizer and sunscreen. Maybe the trick is the combination with the other Episilk serums to attain the maximum effect.

While the serum did not deliver on the wrinkle lessening, it did deliver on the promised moisturizing. I do like its natural ingredients. Because I have been moving to an all-natural skincare regime, I always check the ingredients against Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep® website, and this serum passed with flying colors. In addition to hyaluronic acid and Argireline®, the serum also has echinacea, which is beneficial for improving skin hydration and reducing wrinkles, and Asian ginseng, an anti-oxidant that’s great for brightening skin and boosting blood flow for a natural glow.

This is not a miracle serum, but if you are looking for a natural serum that will boost your skin’s moisture and is not expensive, then this may be for you. If you are looking for a serum to lessen your expression lines quickly, then I would pass on this one.
