Hello my name is Terri and I am a skincare junkie. I just turned 50 last year and I am constantly looking for newest, next best thing so, as you might imagine, I was excited be be chosen to review Hyalogic Episilk Facial Relax Serum with hyaluronic acid and Argireline ($39.95). Having used both active ingredients in the past and been pleased with the results, I was intrigued to see how this dual formula would work.
Some people are opposed to Argireline saying it really does nothing, but I tried Victoria Principal's Secret line before I started being diligent about which ingredients I use, and most recently Derma e Peptides Plus Wrinkle Reverse Cream. I was pleased with the results with these products . Not saying it removed all of my lines and sagging but my skin appeared firmer and more resilient. Hyaluronic acid is another I haved used in the past and liked the results . It is used to boost skins moisture content and prevent moisture loss. I often use Reviva Labs Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Sibu Sea Buckthorn Hydrating Serum under my moisturizer often. I do think hyaluronic acid is an effective moisture booster, particulary in the winter months.
The Episilk Facial Relax Serum (or FRS) serum contains no parabens or fragrance which is a huge plus for me. Since it did not say I could use a cream on top of the serum I did not. The directions state after cleansing apply to a lightly-dampened face twice a day. The first morning I used Episilk FRS it felt silky going on with a tightening after-effect. After the product sunk in, though, my face felt dry. I really wanted to use some cream to take away the dry feeling, but I just continued to use it as directed. As the days went on my face felt drier and drier. Makeup application was ok after using it but the dry feeling would just not go away.
I really really wanted to like Hyalogic Episilk Facial Relax Serum because it contained together two ingredients I have been using separately. But on the other hand I do think it has given my face a firmer look. SO, I am going to continue to use this, but with a moisturizer on top. At the end of the day I was pleased with the results even though I did not like the way it dried my skin.
