Avocado oil and shea butter moisturize lips

Just a slight plumping effect

An overall good-for-your-lips lipstick

I don't have much in the way of lips. More of a zipper than a pout, if truth be told. My husband maintains that when I'm in a bad mood, my lips completely disappear. Unsurprisingly, I am in the market for a lip plumper. The problem is that so many of them are chock full of things I wouldn't put on my feet, let alone my mouth. And then I found Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip Plumper.

This is a new product from a mineral-based make up line that is sold through salons. I bought mine from Not only will Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip Plumper do no evil, it might actually do some good. It has avocado oil, a peptide, shea butter, green tea (a proven anti-oxidant), cranberry, vitamin C and E. Mint and ginger are supposed to do the plumping job. I'll let you know whether they work.

UPDATE 4/10/2008: This product arrived and I'm enjoying using it. No trout pout for me (probably a good thing), but it does make my lips a little fuller. It is nice to use, glossy but not too shiny and the color, fittingly called NYC,is very flattering.

I had to chuckle when I saw Lori's comment about Jane Iredale being geared toward older women because I have been using it loyally since I was 24 (28 now) and my sister who is three and a 1/2 years younger is hooked on it too. It seemed to be the only make-up that didn't make me break out and I believe between switching over to Jane and discovering the Osmosis Pur Medical skin care products, they saved me from a 4th course with the very nasty acne drug Accutane (shudder).

Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip Plumper is an absolutely wonderful product. I've been wearing the Tokyo shade, which is a lovely frosty dark pink, and have just ordered the NYC. The flavour is yummy (but not too overpowering), kind of like refreshing Coca Cola or Dr Pepper. The lipstick is very moisturizing, and is the only lip product that prevents my lips drying out in the warm and dry office environment that I need to work in. I have noticed some plumping too, but I think I will need to be using this for a bit longer to see the full effects of the oligopeptides. All in all, a brilliant product that's worth every penny.

Sadly, I have never found one that works for long.

I too love Jane Iredale products. I have the Just Kissed Lip Plumper in the Sydney color - which is a beautiful shimmery coral red color. I love the way it feels on the lips, makes them feel moist and I'd swear I can feel it working. The smell is wonderful too.

In the past I overlooked this brand because it seemed directed for older women. But after your post I decided to give it a try. I love the packaging - it is very classy. Even the chapstick called Lipdrink comes in a very clean navy colored metal. I also love the smell which is important for me cause I have thrown many lip covers away because I cannot tolerate the smell. I chose the Milan color for the plumper and it is a sheer pink that is a neutral shade on my lips. One last note - I also purchused the conceler called Disappear with Green Tea Extract. Again the packaging is great, it comes in a tube and works great with two thin layers.
