Thanks to TIA, I have been using jane iredale Purelash Extender & Conditioner ($16.50) for about six weeks now. I am really glad that I was introduced to this product as it has really made a difference in the condition of my lashes. Truth be told, I have never put a ton of emphasis on my lashes.  Mascara is not something I go crazy for, though I do acknowledge it as a necessary cosmetic tool.  Further, I don’t have long, lush lashes so it is not a feature I’ve ever felt the need to emphasize.  However, this does not mean I have not taken care of them and haven’t tried to enhance them with the normal tools of the trade (eyelash curlers, various types of mascara, etc.).

I love using a product that has no harmful or questionable ingredients, especially so close to the eyes. The PureLash Extender & Conditioner is very nourishing to the lashes (the second ingredient is algae extract), seems to have made them thicker – perhaps a little longer – and they are definitely stronger. I can see a decrease in the amount of shedding. The product also acts as a great primer for your mascara. I find that my mascara goes on smoother, performs better and flakes a lot less over the course of the day. I have experienced no sensitivities or irritation from use.

After only using this product for a short period of time, I can honestly say that I will continue to use it. At only $16.50 retail, it is an extremely reasonable investment in keeping my lashes in tip-top condition.

Ingredients: Water, Algae Extract, Beeswax, Stearic Acid, Glycerin, Carnauba Wax, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Oleic Acid, Vanilla Tahitensis Fruit Extract, Sweet Almond Seed Extract

I know that this product is no longer at the top of the eyelash care product list. However, in browsing TIA's site, I was definitely in the market for a reasonably priced addition to AQ's Skin Solutions Eye Serum. If my pocketbook allowed me to right now, I would definitely try the "Lash" sister to the AQ product, but it won't!

So, I decided to take a chance on a product that was reviewed a few years back. I've written about my eyelash debacle in other reviews; I lost almost all of my eyebrows and eyelashes with chemo in 2010-11 and haven't been seen much regrowth after the initial few months following cessation of treatment. Fortunately, AQ's Eye Serum has amazingly increased the amount/thickness of my lashes (& helped with my puffy eyes in conjunction with YBF's Correct). I use the Correct and the AQ Eye Serum as part of my nighttime skincare regimen.

The addition of jane airedale Purelash Extender & Conditioner has been amazing for me; it's become an indispensable part of my morning regimen. Despite the constant worry anyone has about repeated use of a "wand" applicator, in terms of bacterial build-up--either with this or any mascara/eyelash product, I've seen a great deal of additional eyelash health and fullness combining both products. One should NOT expect to see color on lengthened/fuller lashes with the jane iredale Purelash product. On my already extremely light-colored eyelashes (and brows), it is just a clear to slightly off-whitish appearance. You will NOT see WHITE eyelashes--just notice very light-colored longer ones. This is strictly a product for healthier/fuller lashes. On the rare days I apply mascara, it DEFINITELY goes on much more smoothly, I have absolutely no clumping, and the product gives my previously very short eyelashes a natural curl up (I have a huge aversion for eyelash curler use) and for the first time since my late 20's/early 30's, I'm actually able to see my eyelashes when I glance at my eyes. At this price point, I will definitely be able to replace the product often enough to hopefully (there are never guarantees!) prevent any bacterial introduction to a wand that by the product design, will not be a one-time use applicator.

For that price, I'm definitely going to try it.

    Thanks Lisa for the review!

I agree with you Lisa. After only a few weeks, my lashes feel more supple and stronger. I have every intention of continuing to use this. Along with AQ Lash (growth product), it is giving lashes worth batting.
