I was excited to try the Josh Rosebrook Moisturizing Cleanser ($27)because it was advertised as being moisturizing and full of plant essences, which as an herbalist, I love.
I am 62 with pretty normal skin that goes through the occasional outbreak every now and then (still!). My skin is well moisturized on its own, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve noticed a dry, tightening feeling with some products.
The first time I used Josh Rosebrook Moisturizing Cleanser, I loved it! I first noticed an immediate rosy look to my skin and after I rinsed it off, my skin felt clean and NOT tight. Wow! I thought maybe I had finally found the cleanser I have been looking for.
The next evening when I used it, I noticed that my skin felt slightly tighter than before. Hmm, I was a bit concerned, but didn’t add extra moisture to my skin.
The next evening the tightening got worse with use, so I had to give in and add a moisturizer.
I find that I am using it every other day or every third day in order to avoid the drying feeling; therefore, I probably would not buy this product – although, I will use up this sample bottle since I like the rosiness that this cleanser brings to my skin. I suspect that it would work well for a woman who has oily skin.
