Dry Skin, Oily Skin

I am in my late 20s with normal to dry sensitive skin, and I wanted to try a moisturizer that would hydrate without clogging my pores. And so I was given the opportunity to test the Juice Beauty Oil-Free Moisturizer ($28 in the TIA shop). However, I found the texture of the product to be somewhat sticky. And I felt as if the moisturizer did not absorb well; it seemed to leave a thin film on my face. I don’t mind a little glow, but I would not recommend this for oily skin at all since it does look shiny on the face.

During the first few applications, I felt a slight tingle (similar to applying concentrated AHA), but this stopped after a few uses. I suspect the tingle came from the essential oils or plant extracts. It does contain camphor, which is a known irritant, so this also could have caused the tingling. I used the product twice daily after cleansing and applying a serum. Over the course of a month, I did not notice any difference in my skin overall - no better, no worse. I was pleased that the product is cruelty free, and while the pump packaging is commendable, as the antioxidants will remain more stable as opposed to being packaged in a jar, the bottle is clear so it needs to be kept out of the light to remain potent. Since the product contains no SPF, I had to use a sunscreen over it for daytime. There are many other products available that contain more potent antioxidants and fewer irritants, so I can’t say I recommend this.
