Truth In Aging is indeed a Community of Sharing. Please share the love, pay it forward by sharing what you have found to work or hasn’t. Your suggestions, comments and contributions help make Marta’s site valuable to all of us. Having said that, here’s what I have to share today.

I hypothesize that you could do a personality analysis based on a person’s personal care routine. Built of self-trials, preferences and changes, as we change and change our routines. We come to Truth In Aging when we either need to change or validate our routines. In my case I needed a complete overhaul.

I was like a kid in a candy-store when I first found the TIA site. Reliable, honest reviews, information on products that WORK, are good for you AND the environment? I was so excited I started trying everything. After I came down from my sugar high, I realized I needed to be a bit more sober about my purchases. The ‘throw everything at it and something’s bound to stick’ regime was lacking. What it was lacking was purpose.

For the past year the purpose of my routine has been to eliminate scars and to reduce some enlarged pores. Not a total success, but through this routine I have learned a lot & found some products I love using along the way.

The use of Super Cop 2X did not get rid of my scars. I still have them, but they are softer in appearance with hypertrophic (raised) areas lower and smoother. I believe Super Cop 2X helped to keep my face firm, but it didn’t do anything for enlarged pores, crow’s feet, bags or forehead wrinkles. Reducing the scars has been a slow process, but if you’re put off by derma rollers, punches or surgery like me, it might be worth a try. A recent dermatology visit will have me swapping the Cop for Retin A at night. The good doctor says it will shrink pores and scars. I’m willing to push the Hayflick Limit just a bit to give it a try. We’ll see in a while if it works or not.

Read Skinbiology’s website for detailed information on how to use their products. Super Cop 2X is super strong and I’m not suggesting that anyone put drops of this on their skin right away. All other products mentioned below are TIA reviewed. Use the search field at the top of the website to pull up a wealth of information on all of them. TIA reviews are spot on, these products work for me and that’s why I use them.

4-Day Scar Routine: LacSal Serum (oil free, 10% hydroxy acid chemical exfoliant) in the morning. Everywhere except around the eyes. Super Cop 2X SRCP (Skin Remodeling Copper-Peptide) at night. Applied lightly over entire face. With tolerance it can be applied even around the eyes. Apply a drop of CP on each scar. Wait 10minutes; apply a thin layer of Emuleve emu oil over face. I then put another drop of CP on each scar. My basis being that CP needs to repair something. The strong drops of CP damage first and then repair.

3-Day Rest Routine: Straight from Marta This Month’s December Regime. I love Cellbone Hyper Peptides and Osmosis Replenish! Cellbone smoothes crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles. For me it is instant gratification in a bottle. I always put this around my eyes, if nowhere else, but if I apply it to my entire face then I layer Replenish ($40) over it. Replenish is wonderfully light, refreshing & healing.

Clarisonic with Suki Exfoliating Foaming CleanserTracie Martyn or Belli Acne Clearing Facial Wash ($22). A weekly mask of Astara Blue Flame Purification Mask ($42) helps keep a somewhat dirty CP out of my pores.

Thermaskin Natural Skin Therapy ($12) is my unorthodox toner. There’s a lot I love about this product.

YBF Correct ($150 in the shop) is my day eye cream. One of those creams that you under appreciate until you stop using it. Don’t use it for three months and take some pictures. You’ll have a renewed appreciation for it. I try out other eye creams at night.

Skinbiology’s Folligen on lower lashes every morning. I’ve been asking Osmotics FNS Follicle Nutrient Serum to do double duty for 5 weeks now by applying it to my top lashes at night.

ThermaSkin Skin Repair Stick ($20) coats my lips in the morning. KaplanMD Lip 20 ($30) throughout the day. A mask of YBF Define ($70 in the shop) coats them at night and my lips have never looked better than they do now.

Good luck to all of you as you search for the products you love for Your Routines.
