Below are my observations and results after using the Kaplan MD Firming Mask ($75) for four weeks.

This product has a light scent which is not terribly unpleasant, but not especially pleasant, either.

Ease of use

The firming mask is very easy to apply. A very small amount of product (as directed) goes a long way, and glides on easily over cleansed skin.

Tactile sensation

The product feels cool, light and smooth on the skin; it spreads evenly and very easily. It has the consistency of toothpaste. And I felt a slight tightening effect.

Visible results

I usually use a green clay mask once a week, which I find does a good job of tightening the skin and leaving a very clean feel. (I discontinued use of the clay mask while using the Kaplan MD product.) The directions for the Kaplan MD product suggest using two to three times per week. I used it twice weekly. Compared to my regular clay mask, it tightened only slightly. Other than that, I noticed no other visible difference or feel.

Personal findings

1. I found no inconvenience in the use of the product.

2. I found the product to have definite beneficial effects on the skin, which compare to those derived from use of a good clay mask.

3. I believe that, given a reasonable, extended amount of time (perhaps three or four months), and used regularly, according to product directions, you might possibly see more dramatic results. Being loaded with botanicals, I would imagine that over time, use of the Kaplan MD product may result in a clearer, finer-textured complexion. However, I found no noticeable difference (compared to my clay mask) after only four weeks. And I saw no further firming of the skin. I would say it does seem to be a useful product; however, I prefer the results (in particular, the tightening effect) I get after using the green clay mask. I take care of my skin, which is in the normal range and generally very clear.

Also worth noting is that the Kaplan MD mask is very easy to remove; whereas, the clay sometimes sticks a little.
