KaplanMD Lip 20 Treatment

First of all the packaging of Kaplan MD Lip 20 Treatment was not good. The lid of the tube came off within the first two weeks of using it and in order to keep it from getting God knows what on it from my purse I had to put it in a snack baggie to keep it clean.

I like the product but I am not thrilled about it. It made my lips tingle at first which told me they were in need of some moisture.  It did not seem to be more than a lip balm like Burts Bees. As far as a lip plumper, it did do that, but I have full lips but very dry.  It did seem to help with that.

I would use it if given to me, but I would not purchase it. For $30 it seems a bit overpriced and some of the ingredients like the Black Cohosh I am not sure I approve of due to the studies on it.

If I were giving it a grade it would be a C overall. Good feel on the lips but due to the packaging and price, I think I will stick to Burt's Bees lip balm.

First I would like to say that maybe my review was a little unfair to compare Kaplans product to Burts Bee. I have great results with Burts, but I prefer to pay the high bucks on the rest of my face.My lips are not too bad and as I said they are full and don't really need plumping. As far as the studies, I did see Marta's mention of the study so I asked my doctor about it. He did confirm that there have been studies done with negative feedback, and because I have had cancer I should beware of products with it in it. Should this be a factor to make a decision to use or not to use Kaplan's product, that is a totally personal thing. I just wanted to say that I also found the product felt great on my lips and if it had color I may have loved it, and purchased it for the $30 price tag. The packaging was pretty but the top was cheaply made and needs to be redesigned. Just wanted to give a better explanation.

I find the swivel lid elegant , didn't break for me and mom has managed to keep it intact too. Love the way it feels on my lips!

I'll let Gloria come back to tell you what studies on black cohosh she was referring to, but I did look at this myself and here is the article:
On balance, I think it is safe.

This is one of my favorite lip products.
I have several and have no problem with the lids.
It feels really good on the lips. Very moisturizing.

wouldn't the peppermint in the product have caused your lip tingling? especially if they're dry, my lips find nothing more irritating than peppermint or any of the menthol derivatives

I am surprised to hear about the lid. I used mine up entirely without a problem, as a matter of fact, the fancy case and pop up lid was one of my favorite things! :)

I had mine for less than a week when the lid popped off- totally irritating. Which studies re Black Cohosh concerns are you referring to?
