A beauty oil that plumps and hydrates for any age

Many unique botanicals

I have to confess that it takes a lot for a facial oil to win me over. They have to absorb nicely, but most importantly there has to be a lot of value add. There are tons of beauty oils out there and most of them aren’t much better than DIY mash ups of some very obvious botanicals. I want additional antioxidants (as with Your Best Face, or Dr. Dennis Gross), or an amazing combination of unique botanical oils. Keracell’s Liquid Gold Enriching Elixir ($160 in the shop) offers both.

Living up to its name, this beauty oil is golden and luxurious. There is a scent, but I find it delicate. I have been using Liquid Gold Enriching Elixir at night on my face. A drop or two from the elegant dispenser is enough and I’ve been adding it to my body lotion (which also happens to be by Keracell) for extra moisturizing and – a big bonus – to make the lotion go much further.

I feel that the most discernible result from using this oil is supple skin. My face and neck look healthy and feel more resilient. The effects on my arms are really impressive – their late 50s skin is positively springy. Keracell promises that this oil will keep skin plump by suppressing transepidermal water loss and that has been my experience. Although I haven’t mixed Liquid Gold Enriching Elixir with a facial serum, the results of combining it with Keracell’s Firming and Sculpting Body Lotion suggest that it would be well worth trying (particularly as when drier, winter weather gets underway).

Liquid Gold Enriching Elixir is something of a departure for Keracell as it does not contain their signature human stem cells. It does, however, contain a formidable array of extracts and oils. There’s a ton of antioxidants and fatty acids, but I’ll call out just a few, highlighting those that are most uncommon.

High up the list of ingredients is radish seed extract, which contains an atypical mixture of C18, C20, and C22 fatty acids and is being discovered by formulators as an alternative to silicon for providing “slip”. Bidens pilosa is a member of the aster family and the extract has been identified as a natural retinol alternative.

I was amused to find out that cnidium monnieri fruit extract has long been used in Chinese medicine as a pro-erectile. Another bonus, you could say. On the subject of unusual ingredients I should note acetyl hexapeptide-1, which interacts with a skin cell receptor called MC1R. Aka Melitane, it boosts a natural or artificial tan and protects against UV damage.

This is a superb moisturizing and plumping beauty oil that I could recommend for any age. I have used barely one seventh of the bottle in my month long test and expect to be using it for many months to come, making it good value for such a rich formula.

I had an immediate plumping and moisturizing response to this elixir. It has a pleasant but slight fragrance and is applied via a dropper. It feels luxurious but most important, plumps and moisturizes. It does not leave the skin greasy as it is absorbed quickly. This is one of my new
    favorite products.
