A neck cream that smooths and lightens with sophisticated actives

Stem cells and brightening ingredients

Slow to get going and not for purists

Do not expect a quick fix with KERACELL V-Shape Neck & Décolleté Cream ($100 in the shop). But for those with a little patience, this is a firming and smoothing neck cream that also lightens and brightens the skin. Used in conjunction with KERACELL Re-Cu-Perate Recovery Serum ($120 in the shop), it is phenomenal.

For the first 10 days of my 30-day test, nothing seemed to be happening. To be fair, my expectations were high (I am on a permanent quest for the perfect neck cream) and the challenge considerable (my neck is not aging as well as my face). So I resolved to be patient and after three weeks I started to see my neck looking smoother and more supple.

I then decided to introduce KERACELL’s Re-Cu-Perate, a serum that has wrinkle reducing powers that I am really impressed with. The combination of Re-Cu-Perate (applied first) and V-Shape is wonderful. My neck is losing its crepey redness, the skin is brighter and looks almost buttery. The litmus test is that I am continuing with this regimen well after my test period.

KERACELL’s key ingredient is a human conditioned media complex. Typically, stem cells are taken from one source such as adipose fat or fibroblast. KERACELL MD has a slightly different take that blends growth factors from both adipose and fibroblast to create a balanced complex. Tiny nano-lipids (1000 times smaller than cells) called exosomes to help the delivery of the stem cells into the skin when applied topically.

There is an interesting peptide in V-Shape neck cream, palmitoyl tripeptide-8. It is marketed under the name of Neutrazen and it targets neurogenic inflammation. It seems that scientists are understanding more about the effect of neurons on inflammatory mediators and their subsequent effects on skin issues such as aging, rosacea and eczema. So this peptide may be on to something.

There is also a “re-shaping” ingredient that goes by the name of Slim Excess. It is basically red algae. I don’t really understand how it works, but it seems to set off a chain of reactions that ultimately breakdown lipids. Although how this shapes facial or neck contours I can’t really say.

As for the brightening/lightening effect that I have noticed, this seems to be due to sea lettuce, an algae extract that inhibits the melanogenesis and reduces hyperpigmentation.

KERACELL V-Shape is not for purists and there are some that will balk at ingredients at potential irritants such as phenoxyethanol and pentylene glycol.  Overall, though, the sophisticated actives outweigh the bad in a very worthy addition to the anti-aging neck cream category.
