Sun protection made better with antioxidants

As smart as I am, I have been known for doing dumb things when it comes to the sun and my skin. Last summer, I baked and baked in the sun with minimal sunscreen and throughout the winter cursed myself every time I looked in the mirror and saw those dark spots that appeared.

This summer, I vowed to turn over a new leaf by using a higher SPF. But did I really want to slather Coppertone all over my face every day? When I was given the opportunity to test a sunscreen, I jumped at the chance. Lather Daily Defense Facial Sunscreen ($24) with SPF 25, aloe and white tea has been an eye opener for me! I apply it every morning to my face, neck and décolleté, let it sit for a few minutes, then apply a light moisturizer and my makeup. It’s funny, because it almost acts as a makeup primer due to the white pigment. I used to think the SPF 15 in my regular moisturizer was enough but now that I am getting older, I realize I have to be more responsible about the sun, lest I look like an old shoe by the time I am 55!

This summer, my skin looks great, I don’t have too-brown, too-tanned skin like I did in the past and I feel like I am really doing something good for myself!

I also love the scent of this product, the white tea smells delicious!

The first active ingredient is oxtinoxate, which can be found in the majority of sunscreen products on the market, including lotions, creams, sticks and sprays. It is also added to cosmetics, such as foundation or lipstick, to help protect the wearer against sun damage. The other active ingredient is titanium dioxide, a white mineral sunscreen and thickener in cosmetic and skincare products. It is found in almost every sunscreen with a physical blocker due to its high refractive index, strong UV light absorbing capabilities and resistance to discoloration.

I am crazy about this product and strongly recommend it. Lather Daily Defense is a face saver!
