I recently had the opportunity to sample Lumixyl Moisturelock Sunscreen SPF 30 ($58).

I liked having the opportunity to try a new sunscreen because I am always looking for something more natural than what I have previously used. This certainly fits the bill with the active ingredient of Titanium Dioxide rather than a long list of letters seemingly forming a word I cannot remember. I am always suspicious when a company tells you what the ingredient is and then gives it a nickname you can pronounce like...PABA.

If I cannot pronounce it, I am fairly sure it won't be good for my skin. Vegetables and fruits don't have long chains of letters in their names. I am more willing to trust a tomato or red wine than an alphabet soup. And I am a huge fan of soup!

This is a really good sunscreen. It is very moisturizing and yet absorbs really quickly leaving no residue or sticky feeling behind. SPF 30 is the least I would use. I live in Israel where it is sunny all the time and I walk a fair amount off and on during the day. Not only have I had no irritation, but also I have had no pinking up of the skin. I am fairly fair - not the fairest of the fair, just German and Irish.

But the biggest test for me was giving it to my husband to use. He is suspicious of Titanium Dioxide and any other pronouncable ingredient that might give him the Casper effect.

He was willing to be my tester and as he is not a guy known to fudge his opinions, I thought he would be a good candidate. His conclusion was no Casper. He also has very oily skin and did not feel that it added a greasy feel to his skin. In some ways, I think his impressions are more relevant than mine. I have drier skin to begin with. I am fair to begin with so less likely to get Caspered. And I like a moist feel to my skin. So since it passes his test, I'd say we have a winner.

Active Ingredients: Titanium Dioxide 8.40%
