I was the winner of the L’uvalla Age Defying System and have been using it for approximately one month.  I have a confession to make:  I was hoping to not like it  because I wanted to reduce my carbon footprint by using an organic skin care brand that was made in North America (L’uvalla comes from the South of France), even though I do realize that “local” brands often contain raw materials that come from afar.

So my verdict:  L’uvalla is excellent.  About three days after I started using the system, I noticed that some problematic milia around my eyes and pimples that just wouldn’t quit had disappeared and my perpetually irritated cheeks were calm.  L’uvalla’s signature ingredient is lotus flower extract which is, according to their website, an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.  I don’t know if it’s just that ingredient or the combination of ingredients, but my skin has been looking and acting better than it had been in a long time.  This is one of the best organic skin care lines I’ve tried (I like it much more than Jurlique and Dr. Alkaitis) and I will purchase it when I run out.  I should add that it will be a while before I need to replace anything as L’uvalla sent me full-size products, not samples sizes as I was expecting.

The Hydrating Milk Cleanser is creamy,  smells heavenly and most important it works.  I have oily yet dehydrated skin and I’ve always used foaming cleansers that left my skin squeaky (read: overstripped) clean.  This Cleanser leaves my skin feeling clean deep down without being tight and dry.

The Orange Toner is packaged in a cobalt blue glass bottle.  I love cobalt blue glass, so the bottle had me at hello.  The toner makes my skin feel refreshed and gently lifts away any residue and best of all, it contains no alcohol which makes it possible for me to smile immediately after using it without worrying that my face will crack.  My only minor criticism is the scent - the bitter orange has a sort of smokey scent that reminds me of roasted peppers.  Fortunately, the scent dissipates quickly without lingering on the skin.

The Regenerating Age-Defying Cream is extremely rich - it has a thick, paste-like quality that softens and spreads easily as it warms up on the skin.  It is easily absorbed and nourishing without feeling heavy, but here’s a caveat:  a little goes a long way so it is easy to over-do which can leave me a wee bit slick.  Oh, and the scent - it’s as though they’ve captured summer sunshine in the French countryside and bottled it.  I feel like I’m on vacation when I smell this - seriously, it is that soothing.

L’uvalla generously included sample sachets of the following:  Foaming Facial Cleanser and Balancing Day/Night Cream (from their Balancing System), SPF 20 Sunscreen, Hydrating Milk Cleanser and Regenerating Age-Defying Cream.  I had hoped a sample of their Anti-Wrinkle Eye/Lip Cream would be included, alas it was not, but on the strength of the products that I’ve been using, I will happily purchase it.

aerwin, i can't get enough of the blue bottles. the toner for their balancing system is also alcohol-free, and the first ingredient is one of my favorite essential oils - eucalyptus. it will be perfect for the summer months, when the oil in my skin runs rampant. i hope i can hold out that long for a new blue bottle.
