A 100% natural, 100% vegan facial oil that leaves skin super-soft

Makes skin lovely and soft

by Jane

I was delighted to be selected by TIA to review the Mad Hippie Antioxidant Facial Oil ($24.99) since I had not previously tried facial oils. I was a little concerned about applying an oil to my face as I, like other people who have not used such products, thought it might contribute to oilier skin or even breakouts. I am very happy to report that this product did neither. Instead, it made my skin lovely and soft while beautifully addressing drier areas of my face, including my winter-chapped lips.

When I received the full size product to test, I was pleased that the outer cardboard packaging was made of recycled paper and printed using soy inks; the actual product container was glass with a glass dropper. Upon opening the facial oil, I noted the lovely natural scent. This is a natural product in recyclable packaging, and it makes a great first impression.

The Mad Hippie Antioxidant Facial Oil’s résumé is impressive: It is 100% natural, 100% vegan and contains no synthetic chemicals, artificial fragrances, chemical preservatives or any other toxins. Plus, it’s packed with antioxidants like argan oil, camu camu, and goji berry. Their philosophy includes the idea that the more actives the better, and I couldn’t agree more. This product is not tested on animals, and the company’s website encourages you to “make peace with your inner hippie while hydrating & protecting against photoaging….Our preservative-free antioxidant oil is truly the most natural way to moisturize.”

I faithfully used the product for four weeks as directed (in the evening only), and I noticed an increase in the softness of my skin. My skin is not especially dry, and I used this product as my evening moisturizer for 4 weeks. I love the way it feels, smells and how it is absorbed into the skin quickly. Additionally, my lips chap in the winter, and I applied this oil to my lips morning and evening with impressive results: lovely, soft lips. While this product is for the face, I admit I also applied it to other areas of my body that were in need of some extra moisture, and I was very impressed with the resulting super soft skin. I can’t recommend this product highly enough — it does what it says it will and does so without any synthetic additives.

I should also note that I am a 50-year-old Caucasian woman with sensitive skin prone to milia. I experience the occasional but debilitating migraine, and I am quite sensitive to scents. In fact, I don’t use products with artificial scents if I can help it, and as I mentioned previously, the Mad Hippie Antioxidant Facial Oil has a lovely scent. Since there are no added fragrances, the scent is simply a combination of the various ingredients, and it’s very natural, quite mild and fresh.

Needless to say, I love this product’s résumé, I appreciate the company’s philosophy and I am very impressed with how well the Mad Hippie Antioxidant Facial Oil works. It’s time to let your inner mad hippie out and try this product!

My experience with Mad Hippie Antioxidant Facial Oil is similar to Jane's. I bought it about 6 weeks ago because I was looking for a facial product that contained sea buckthorn oil, having read the research it's anti-wrinkle benefits. I have been using it primarily on my face at night as the last step in my night time regimine and it is a great moisterizer. I was hoping for a decrease in my wrinkles, but as it did for Jane, the skin on my face and lips is soft and moistrized. Additionally, while visiting my daughter a month ago in Arizona (I live in a more humid region) I had a reaction on my arm to either her soap or body lotion that turned the skin dry, bumpy, and scaly. It looked like lizard skin. I discontinued using her body lotion on my arms, and used my Mad Hippie oil instead. I saw improvement right away, and after about 4 days or so it was cleared up.
