Male Order: Antipodes Hallelujah Lime & Patchouli Cleanser

Is a Solution for:
Face Care for Men

Due to my skin type (oily, or even combination) I'm always heading straight to the foaming cleansers and hardly think twice about cream cleansers. Sometimes it's not even a "skin type" thing but more of a "male vs female" thing. Guys generally have thicker skin so we don't need the creamier face washes. When I checked out the Antipodes brand (another line from the Pacific that successfully made it over to North America), I was quite fond of the packaging. It appeals to both young and old alike—with its colorful, engaging print image of cool nature—and it's bold enough to catch anyone's attention.

The entire line is certified organic and natural skincare that features premium avocado oil and exotic New Zealand plant extracts, so we're on the right track. Oh, I also love how earth conscious they are outside the bottle (for every purchase made online, they donate a tree to restore earth's natural resources. That's a lot of trees!)

The Hallelujah Lime & Patchouli Cleanser was creamy but not too heavy and I was impressed that it didn't "overstay its visit." I want it to clean and lift and that's what I got. When applied, the lime stood out the most, surprisingly present in the scent, clean and citric.  The avocado was also pleasant to the senses.
A noteworthy ingredient is kawakawa. It's native to the Maoris and the clerk who sold me this cleanser was pretty adamant at how it's hard to get in New Zealand. Maybe that's why it's so much more expensive than the average cleanser ($37.50 NZ, which brings it to about $20 US, but $55 US on the web site). Kawakawa leaf (macropiper excelsum) is a small shrub that grows in New Zealand and historically used for stomach problems. More recently, it's been used for skin conditions. To me, it kind of sounds a little gimmicky but there's too many great things in this cleanser to ignore.

The concentration of avocado here is high and ultimately the "star" of the cleanser. The oil is extracted from native avocados (100% pure, 100% natural and 100% cold pressed extra virgin!) so you know you're getting tons of vitamin E, as well as essential fatty acids Omega 3 and 9, which help keep your skin strong and hydrated. Avocado oil is an antioxidant, highly compatible with your skin's own sebum and also contains lecithin, which is a natural humectant that keeps your skin moist. It's been actually quite awesome using this considering it's day 11 on this cruise and the cabin air seems drier than the Sahara.

Another score for New Zealand!

aqua (water), glycerin, avocado oil, macadamia oil, jojoba oil, wheat straw glycosides, cetearyl alcohol, carrot oil, polysorbate 20, kawakawa leaf, mandarin oil, lime oil, patchouli oil, vitamin e, phenoxyethanol, iodopropynyl butylcarbarmate, grapefruit seed extract.
