I know how much Marta actually approves of Menscience, so I thought I would give the brand a shot. To me, it seemed like they were at the height of their presence about four years ago, then I never really saw them again. Just recently, I've come across the brand lauded in several magazines, easily racking up awards like Slumdog Millionaire (I'm sure it's new publicity behind the brand but at a closer inspection of the ingredients and philosophy, it's quite well deserved). I also noticed how much the brand has grown... When it started it was just a handful of products.. now, it seems like a complete empire of beauty goodies (from face to sun care to nutritional supplements). It's very much a guy's brand (it's called "Menscience Androceuticals: andro for "men", ceuticals from pharmaceuticals), which is also nice because, seriously... we do have some cheeky lines out there that are too cute to be good for you. At Menscience, I can picture a lab full of nutritionists, doctors, dermatologists and skincare specialists cracking away at some important products men the world over would actually use and buy.

The Eye Rescue Formula ($29) is packed with goodies. It has a very subtle, vitamin(ish) scent (as in it smells good for you!) and applies quite nicely. It doesn't absorb as fast as I thought it would but the instant perk to your eyes is worth it. Just looking at the ingredients list tells you that it's low on preservatives and high on nature's own charmers.

The highlights here include green tea (which plays an important role against free radicals) and the powerhouse of vitamin antioxidants like C , E and K. Vitamin K is, I believe, the magic wand of eye creams. In general, it helps improve the appearance of darkly pigmented or rough skin areas and great for repairing the skin. Working in tandem with kojic acid is also beneficial, considering it's also used to brighten the skin and reduce the size and darkness of those bags (lentigines). There's also Coenzyme Q10, which (along with Vitamin A) supports cell renewal and is known to repair collagen. Seriously... the list goes on and on

Ultimately it's a great defense system for your eyes and I am confident to say that it will most likely give serious results with daily use. I'm planning on giving this to my father for father's day, so will keep you posted on results in months time (provided he uses it every day!).
