I'd say I'm really great at the arcade game Galaga, I can quote lines verbatim from any America's Next Top Model episode and effortlessly polish off a whole plate of brussel sprouts. But when it comes to traveling, I'm far from a pro. In fact, I flunk miserably. I'm known to miss flights, I absent-mindedly wait at the wrong gate and even once boarded a plane, forgetting my carry-on luggage at the security checkpoint. I thought nothing could top my disfunctionality last month with Delta not letting me onboard when I planned a visit to Scottsdale, Arizona. But now here I am in San Juan, Puerto Rico, stranded in my layover to the British Virgin Islands while my passport sits on my desk at home.

Knowing I have to grin and bare it (and very familiar with my natural inclination to be flaky in this respect), it's not all that bad. I did get a room at the Grand Melia Resort by the rain forest. And the night before, I managed to score a sample of Pangea Organics Japanese Matcha Tea with Acai & Goji Berry facial mask ($28) at Whole Foods. If you don't know by now, masks chill me the frank out.

Grand Melia is a pretty decadent resort removed from San Juan, so it was a little weird being all by myself. However, all it takes is a jacuzzi-bath on my balcony to win me over (thanks to the front desk for upgrading me after learning about my self-produced catastrophe). As I watched the sun set over the sprawling beach (I guess the layover wasn't that bad after all), I sat in my jacuzzi, sort of fulfilling one of those Julia Roberts' Pretty Woman moments. I slathered the Pangea mask on my face.

We've given Pangea some love in the past and I'm happy to be the first to review their only face mask, Japanese Matcha Tea with Acai & Goji Berry. Its very unique for them to have the Matcha tea. It's essentially a green-powdered traditional Japanese tea rich in antioxidants (so basically matcha is an original way of saying "green tea," which you know by now is good for your skin). It's also really potent in the mask (not one of the last ingredients listed and the scent is very relaxing). One of the other antioxidants is Acai, which exploded with the pomegranate trend of "neutriceuticals" and is often referred to as a superantioxidant that's received strong buzz worldwide (just type it in the search engine for some fun clips).

Lastly, goji berry is also a powerful antioxidant, and this berry is used primarily for its anti-aging benefit. Oh, and detox (remember when Marc Jacobs went to rehab and his therapist made him drink goji berry juice every day to cleanse out his system? Yes, fond memories). Furthermore, awesome organic essential oils (like lavender, green mandarin, peppermint, rosemary) ensure you're getting bang for your buck.

It's the jack-of-all-trades mask (deep cleansing, detoxifying, exfoliating, toning, hydrating, nourishing, etc) and it felt great having the mask on my face knowing I was in a good place, physically and mentally. It was extremely relaxing and the mask itself felt very "green": it smelled like the forest and it clumped onto my skin in an organic way that chemically masks don't. So far this night has ended on a good note. As for the reality of my overnight, Fed-exed passport arriving promptly in the morning....
