Male Order: Pangea Organics Massage and Body Oil

Last year (2008), I spent a total of 165 days in New York. Which means I was away more than I was home. Which means I travel way too much. Which, therefore, means it's challenging to have a relationship. Conclusion: Valentine's Day is just another day for me!

I actually spent last week filming a show for the Travel Channel in Chile (will keep you posted! The show airs in June). I was in South America two weeks ago (I had to fly back to New York City for two nights afterward, only to return after the short turn around). Translation: My body is hating me.

So I thought the best Valentine's gift would be to my body: a massage and a bottle of Pangea Organics Massage and Body Oil.

Before I get into the product, I want to mention the packaging, which I think reflects the amazing eco-friendly mentality of Pangea. All of their product boxes are made using a Zero-Waste process that mashes 100% post-consumer paper (without glues or dyes) with organic seeds. So instead of throwing it away, you can soak the box in water then plant it in the earth. How cool, and how earth-conscious. My box contained seeds of Genovese sweet basil... I can't wait until I have a chance to plant it (once the frost melts here in NYC!)

The 100% organic massage and body oil is scented Pyrenees lavender with cardamom. Lavender happens to be one of my favorite scents and it's perfect for massages, meant to be soothing, healing and relieving tension (this massage oil is great for bedtime. Apply a dab on both sides of the neck and wrists when ready for bed. The scent helps relax you). I was happy to learn, when I first opened it, that the scent wasn't weak but rather potent, as if the plant itself was also in the bottle. Those with an expert nose can note traces of the cardamom, which is generally used to treat skin conditions when it comes to body care, especially cleansing and act as antiseptic.

I was surprised to find that jojoba seed oil was the first active ingredient as it wasn't marketed on the packaging. Jojoba helps treat dry skin and premature aging and wrinkles, so getting this rubbed into your skin is a total bonus. The oil itself (actually wax esters) unclogs pores, makes a great moisturizer and great for dry and mature skin. The oil gives your body a healthy luster after application (this is great because it's not necessarily just a massage oil, so you kinda get a two-for-one deal!)

My skin loves it and has thanked me for this pretty fantastic Valentine's Day gift (but my skin is going to hate me again when I have to hop on a plane on Sunday to leave for Australia). www.pangeaorganics.com

hi nhan, i would not say body oil is "better" than lotion.. i think it's a matter of preference and your skin type. guys prefer lotions as we have thicker skin (and, well, oil happens to be a little more feminine than body lotions). because oil irritates your skin (is it all oils or a specific ingredient? maybe you could check on that) i would stick to lotions. they both serve as moisturizers

I have always avoided oil products because I get irritated with red bumps. But would you say that body oil is better than lotion?
