When my sister, a Truth in Aging contributor, asked if I wanted to test drive and write a review on an organic anti-wrinkle skincare product for the TIA community, I quickly agreed. I have a fine laugh line that has suddenly appeared below my mouth somewhere on the right side of my chin. Being just in my early 40s, I felt a bit panic-stricken when that nasty fine laugh line stayed longer than a day, but believed that TIA can always be depended on for great solutions for aging concerns.

The Marie Veronique Organics Anti-Wrinkle Duet ($175) came as a set, which included a 1 oz. dark brown bottle of Anti-Wrinkle Serum and a small brown jar containing 50 white capsules of Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin C Supplement. Since I was just in the beginning stages of fighting the first sign of aging skin, I felt confident that this would be a simple experiment.

I actually felt like a chemist preparing a potion as the products were to be combined before application. The concoction: milky anti-wrinkle serum mixed with the grainy vitamin C powder supplement until dissolved into a cream and massaged into the skin. The directions indicated to pour out all of the powder from the capsule to mix with the serum and apply the mixture on the face, neck and chest. For my purposes, however, only a bit of each, one third of the powder and a pea-size amount of the serum, was enough to apply on my specific target area. I kept the rest of the powder from the opened capsule in a tiny air tight plastic cosmetics travel container. It should be noted that this powder from one capsule was enough for three nights of use.

The Anti-Wrinkle Duet by MVO boasts some widely known powerful skin-transforming natural ingredients, as stated in the company’s comprehensive website. The serum contains among others: Beta-glucan, a biopolymer from oat that enhances wound-healing by stimulating collagen production; the antioxidants Reservatrol and Idebenone; and wonderful natural oils from Rosehip seed (which contains tretinoin, a vitamin A derivative used in Retin A for cell regeneration), Frankincense, Neroli Citrus, Argan, Blackberry seed, Marula, and Cistus.

As far as moisturizing properties, the Anti-Wrinkle Duet contains impressive hyaluronic acid precursors, such as Glucosamine and Kombucha extract (which contains Glucuronic Acid and Glyconutrients, necessary to promote hyaluronic acid synthesis in the dermis for smooth, plumped skin).

The supplement capsule is packed with vitamin C in water-soluble form (l-ascorbic acid) to ensure its effectiveness as an antioxidant and increase levels of collagen in the skin. Its other active ingredients are superoxide dismutase (SOD), alpha lipoic acid, licorice (dipotassium glycyrrhizate), n-acetylglucosamine, and niacinamide, all meant to provide extra boost for healthier, firmer and smoother skin.

With all those luxurious qualities in the Anti-Wrinkle Duet package and the high-end market price of $175, one can only expect notable results, right? Well, after seven and a half weeks of religiously applying the product, the nasty line is still there as it appears to my critical eyes. Though my husband declares it is generally much less visible, with the surrounding area seemingly smoother as well. Coming from my equally discerning man, this is enough encouragement for me to persevere with this nightly regimen. For an individual with minor lines and wrinkles, the duet may be a good four-month supply and so I would say there is definitely good value in this wholesome product combo.

That wrinkle needs to be repeatedly zapped with a PaloVia and covered in tretinoin, IMHO. Good luck!
