What I actually like about Mario Badescu is that, although there are some parabens in some of their products, they use the minimal amount possible. After all, some times you unfortunately need them as preservatives, which obviously isn't the solution we seek. With that said, if every product was paraben free, it'd be a pretty wonderful life of beauty. But knowing that paraben-free products are not the heavyweights in the industry, we can find some product lines that (again, unfortunately!) contain parabens but have other benefits that we can come to terms with. Like Mario Badescu. I love the kiwi face scrub. The funny thing is, after my whole spiel, I'd like to note that there are no parabens in this product.
Mario Badescu Kiwi Face Scrub is a refreshing, fruity scrub that truly exfoliates. It reminds me of New Zealand (it's the closest product I have come across to actually bearing the kiwi in a super non-chemically way). The kiwi extract is amazing as an astringent to neutralize bacteria and tighten the pores, thanks to the ascorbic acid it contains. There's also loads of vitamin C and vitamin A (kiwi is known as the second most nutritionally dense fruit after guava!). Topically, kiwi is also known to help moisturize. There are real kiwi seeds in the product, great for sloughing, and another nutritious way your skin can get benefits the kiwi.
The scent of kiwi is incredibly rich when applied, and the algae extract gives it a smooth, silky paste (as you know, algae is another top ingredient for the skin, increasing surface hydration and providing a suppleness to the epidermis. It's great for soothing as well). Your skin feels fully charged after, twice as smooth and, quite frankly, you sort of forget about the parabens (or, in this case, other preservatives).
