MD Solar Sciences Mineral SPF50- reviewed and recommended

I had the good fortune of being able to try and review MD Solar Sciences Ultra Mineral Screen Gel SPF 50+

We took this sunscreen to a baseball game with family (myself&hubby, mother&brother in law and 2 little nephews ages 5&6) and everyone of all ages used and liked this product ~ lately California has been unable to decide if it's spring or not and by the time it does, it will be summer. Anyway baseball is a perfect place to apply sunscreen whether it's hot or not. Here's why we all enjoyed this product.

1. The Feel ~ Silky and soft NOT heavy or greasy at all with a nice light fragrance that doesn't linger, perhaps because this is the sensitive skin formula. Even though the tube states it is a Gel this is more of a lotion really, with a semi matte feel and finish as soon as your done rubbing it on. Facial application was VERY NICE and that is rare indeed, even the kids were not complaining about wiping it off. All of us were pleasantly surprised and relieved that we didn't look like ghostly grease monkeys, especially us ladies!

2. There is not the usual White Chalkiness that happens with a lot, well actually most of the high SPF's I've ever used. Not even a frosting of white residue which the Mother-in-law was really happy with since she has high standards with what she is willing to use. So high in fact she would rather cover up with clothes than be smothered in "White Grease" as she calls it.

3. The AFTER Feel ~ here's where we were even more impressed, after about 15-20 minutes it is as if the Gel has absorbed into the skin and pretty much morphed into a very pleasant moisturizer that was in some ways hydrating. All of us also noted you wouldn't have to worry about your clothes sticking to your skin or picking up any greasy residue. All in all we were happy spectators with good SPF protection.

The website states: Ultra Mineral Screen Gel SPF 50+ Ultra Mineral Screen Gel is ideal for use on all skin types and by people of all ages. It delivers high SPF 50+ broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection with a light silky feel which is easily absorbed into the skin.

And we all agreed this will be in our satchels for the beach, for baseball games and hot summer days just as soon as California decides what it is doing about Spring! I know from Marta's review of their SPF 40 that there are trade offs ~ I'm good with that if it means I get high SPF protection and no white greasy feel ~ this product is a winner and last I heard the Mother-in-law already bought some from their website.

Sorry, we gave out the samples we had a few months ago and this isn't a range that we sell.

My mom bought me this for the summer- I'll be traveling to California for a couple of months. I used it here (in FL) while on the beach. It's so soft and I really like how they include that little UV-detection card.

I know, but it is a NON-greasy, NO white cast trade off! There are times during hot weather where I don't want to look like a oil slick. I WANT to look good at a baseball game or a BBQ event and still have high SPF protection with out my make-up sliding down my face or my bangs sticking to my forehead.

You know now that I think about it, this GEL type lotion actually does act and feel like a's very matte and I love it. We're going to a Aunt's 50th B-day BBQ this weekend and (Vanity speaks) I know I'm going to look good wearing this Sunscreen. Trade-offs can be a good thing!
