Pros

Gives eyes more firmness and resilience

Cons

Is expensive
An effective organic eye serum with heavy-hitting anti-aging ingredients

I am becoming more and more impressed with organic skincare products as I try different brands and formulations with the hopes of swapping out their chemical-loaded counterparts. If an organic surrogate provides equal or better results, I will definitely be inclined to instate it as a permanent replacement. And when a certified organic anti-aging product is chock full of high-tech ingredients with proven tested results, I am extremely excited to make its acquaintance. Such a product is the Michael Todd True Organics Knu Anti-Aging Serum Eye Treatment ($150).

Some of the notable heavy hitters include the patented haloxyl, eyeliss, matrixyl 3000 and syn-coll, along with epidermal growth factor, DMAE, reishi mushroom extract and helix aspera (snail serum). Eyeliss is a go-to ingredient to help with puffiness and swelling, reduce inflammation and increase lymphatic drainage. It’s the perfect antidote for the congestion brought on by springtime allergies. Haloxyl works powerfully to diminish discoloration and help with firmness.

Antioxidant-loaded reishi mushroom extract protects the thin, delicate skin around the eye area while also treating wrinkles, uneven skin tone and enlarged pores. DMAE stimulates and prevents sagging over time, and the other standouts, like matrixyl 3000, syn-coll, epidermal growth factor and helix aspera (snail serum) all help to repair and restore collagen.

The packaging and sleek bottle design immediately won me over with the lavender color scheme, as well as the delivery system featuring the ZAMAC “cool tip” applicator. When applied to the skin, this silver-colored tip cools on contact and feels so soothing. You can work with the product two ways: by applying the amber-colored serum directly via the tip or by using your fingertips to spread the product and then follow-up with massaging the tip on the skin all around the eye. Both methods work beautifully, and the process is almost effortless.

The serum is so gentle, and I have had nary a reaction from applying it morning and night all around the eye area and on the lid. There is no scent that I can detect, so it’s perfect for those who are not friends to fragrance. To be honest, in the first two weeks I didn’t notice much of a difference compared to other eye serums, but as of late, I can definitely feel more firmness and resilient bounce — especially on the outer eye area and lids. My biggest concern with my eye aging is that my lids are more wiggly-wobbly and fleshy, and the drooping is in fast-forward mode since I’ve entered my 50s kicking and screaming (and in denial — ha!). This makes my eyes appear noticeably smaller, less bright and less perky with each passing year. Now more than ever I need, want and demand an eye product that can do as much as possible in the shortest amount of time by using the best of the best high-performance ingredients. I must emphasize that this serum is perfectly fine to use before applying makeup and does not interfere in the least by causing watering of the eyes or eye makeup fading, smearing or flaking.

For me, the only con with this product is the price point. If it was retailed to cost 50-percent less, it would be more fiscally ideal for the average beauty consumer. I plan to continue to use the serum twice daily, and I am sure that I will be very satisfied with what I see and feel. And if my eyes do look more youthful, awake and large over time, I will be overjoyed! Affirmatively speaking, this is a reviewed and recommended addition to my Michael Todd Organics collection.

I ordered this very eye gel before TIA carried it as I was so impressed with Michael Todd's Intensive Organic Cream Eye Treatment for its price and list of ingredients. I loved it, so why not try the "expensive" stuff. I had actually seen some increased firmness and a little less sagging using their eye "cream" for the past 5 months. I have tried this gel on several occasions, but just can't get past the stickiness and dark color that remains on my eyelids throughout the day. Has anyone else experienced this? I went back to the eye cream because this gel stains my skin and is too sticky.

Thank you for a great review Tina. I'd be interested to know how long this lasts - that would be a consideration regarding the price point. Anyway, I'm tempted to try this out myself.
