I have been using the Mirai Purifying & Deodorizing Beauty Bar ($19 in the shop) on my face and body in place of any other bar soaps. Given the cost and the relative benefits, I can’t say this is a product I can wholly recommend.
This beauty bar does make my body feel squeaky clean and the active ingredients, persimmon extract and green tea, do seem to work to deodorize for an extended period of time. Its ability to control hormonally-induced odors is one of its distinctive features, according to Mirai (Editor's Note: for other, more highly recommended Mirai products and reviews, look here) . It’s apparently “The only soap in the U.S. which safely eliminates all body odors originating from hormonal imbalances, menopause and skin aging. Also eliminates vaginal, underarm, and foot odors.” On the other hand, it left my face feeling uncomfortably tight and dry. This despite Mirai’s claim that the soap, made by artisans in Japan, “gently cleanses and hydrates your skin, without stripping the skin’s natural oils.”
The biggest drawback I found with this beauty bar is the fact that it really doesn’t last any longer than my regular bar soaps and, given the price, isn’t a very good value. For some it might be well worthwhile, but for me I have to say it is not. To sum it up, the Mirai Clinical Formula Purifying & Deodorizing Beauty Bar does what it claims to do, for the most part, but the residual facial dryness and the cost do not add up to a product that I would continue to purchase.
