I am a 41-year old woman with facial skin that tends dry, but is also acne-prone.  I have some acne scarring and sun damage as well as fine lines around my eyes and between my eyebrows. My hopes in using the MitoQ Cellular Radiance Protecting Serum ($150 in the shop) were that it would help to even out my skin tone, hydrate my dry skin and maybe even soften the fine lines I’m getting around my eyes, smile lines and nose. I also hoped it would do so without irritating my sometimes sensitive and always acne prone skin.

When applied after washing my skin with gentle soap, I immediately feel some tingling. Products containing vitamin C typically tingle in this way so doesn’t bother me and actually feels good! As the product dries, I feel my skin getting tighter. This is great for the fine lines, but not great for the dryness in my skin. Once dry, I apply a moisturizer designed for dry skin, so more moisturizing. My face no longer feels tight after moisturizer is applied.

It’s absolutely worth mentioning that I love what’s not in this product. With our skin being our biggest organ, I’ve been more careful about what I’m putting on it in the past few years. I try to use products that are close to natural, without extra chemicals or synthetic fragrances. This product has no parabens, phthalates or artificial colors or fragrances. While technically fragrance free, there is a slight odor to it and you should be aware of it. It’s hard to describe, and it’s faint, but it’s similar to a mud mask in smell.

Having used the product for over a month now, I’m happy to say my face is clearer than it’s been in a while. I haven’t had ANY significant breakouts. The whiteheads I’ve seen have been few and far between.  My skin has not had other significant changes, but it’s only been a short time and since I haven’t seen any reason to not continue to use the product I plan to do so!  I’m going to keep an eye on the improvement in discoloration caused by sun/acne since there has been some fading. I am excited to see the progress after a few more months!!
