When TIA suggested I try the new Mukti Age Defence Eye Serum ($91) – I’ve been looking for the perfect eye serum for ages – I immediately accepted. I’ve previously read about Mukti Organic Skincare; its Rejuvenating Eye Balm was included in one of the previous Discover With Marta collections, and I quite liked it.

I am particularly impressed by Mukti’s message – Mukti being the founding lady of this skincare brand – which is so in line with my own thinking:

“We are passionate about organics and living a healthy and long life. Not only are organic products backed by powerful science, they produce results. An organic lifestyle applies to what we eat as well as what we put on our faces and bodies on a daily basis. It is paramount to protect ourselves from the use of harmful chemicals. I feel that is now an environmental responsibility to buy certified organic produce and products. Organic produce is grown by farmers who place emphasis on the conservation of soil and water and are protectors of preserving this precious planet for future generations.”

The ingredients list of the Mukti Age Defence Eye Serum is just so impressive, and there’s not a dubious ingredient in sight! It has olive and shea butters, aloe vera and three different peptides (including Argireline), not to mention sweet almond, pomegranate and carrot seed oil, cucumber (one of my favorites) and chamomile – most of them certified organic by an approved agency. Oh sorry, I almost forgot CoEnzyme Q10 and vitamins C and E…

First of all, it just so happened that I read an application tip (about YBF Correct, no less) a few days before I received this serum. It was about using concentrated formulas, like eye cream, as an intensive forehead and brow treatment. I thought, “That sounds eminently logical – I’ll try that!” So when I received the Mukti eye serum, I decided to apply the serum not only to my eye area, but also to my forehead and the area between the brows.

I have applied the serum each morning and evening as part of my daily routine for the last month. Unfortunately, I had to discontinue use around my eyes because I eventually realized – after a thorough process of elimination – that it was something in this serum that was causing my eyes to tear continuously. I had the same reaction to Sevani Ageless Eyes Revitalizing Eye Serum, so I strongly suspect the pomegranate, since that’s a common ingredient in these two products.

Despite my unfavorable reaction eye-wise, I really wanted to continue the test period with respect to forehead and brow, since I had just two weeks into the trial noticed some real improvement in those areas. I furthermore decided to extend the testing to the neck – those turkey wrinkles really needed some ironing out.

After a month’s use, I’m happy to be able to report that this eye serum does a very good job of seriously diminishing wrinkles on forehead and between brows, as well as (!) noticeably firming up the neck. I’m very disappointed that I had to discontinue the serum around my eyes, since all evidence point to it being very effective in combating wrinkles. I would furthermore hazard a guess that it also puts up a good fight against puffiness and dark circles!

In conclusion, I’d say that this serum is very much worth trying out, and I really think that it will be the answer to many prayers! Though, sadly, I have to continue my search for the perfect eye serum.
