Facial oils are my latest skin care addition. I am in my 50’s and concerned about keeping my skin healthy. I usually wear sunscreen and have for a long time because my fair, sensitive skin burns easily and then turns splotchy, not golden. I also used to have acne. When I first heard about oils being used straight up, I did not think my not-too-dry skin would benefit. Now I am an enthusiastic convert.
A few years ago I did not know that chia was not just a pet and pomegranate seeds even had oil. Now these exotic ingredients and more show up in Mukti Antioxidant Facial Oil Omega 3-6-9 ($43.36).
The product was love at first whiff. Maybe not everyone likes “natural” scents used in “healthy” soaps and lotions, but I enjoyed the slightly sweet, slightly herbal fragrance.
The instructions said to press a few drops onto the freshly washed face and leave on overnight. I used my favorite antioxidant serum first, then the oil on top with pleasing results.
The oil felt “thick”, almost syrupy, when I squeezed a few drops on my palm. The consistency changed to more of a light film as I rubbed my palms together and then placed both hands on my face. I thought my skin might be too oily, but after a minute or two it felt great. I cannot measure the antioxidant and collagen building properties, but I can say my morning skin has been "just right", smooth and not at all dry or oily. It feels more like my skin in years past
I am enjoying using this oil and plan on buying a bottle when I finish this one. Mukti facial oil is not cheap (over $40) but the generous bottle (almost 2 ounces) will last a long, long time. What a great product! Thank you, Truth in Aging.
