Good natural choice for normal skin

Great organic ingredients

Doesn't play nice with makeup

by Virginia

I am 60+ years old and have slightly dry and sensitive skin. When I was asked to test Mukti Tinted Moisturizer with Sunscreen ($44.23), needless to say, I was very intrigued and happy to use a product that is organic.  My expectations were that it would be easy to apply and feel pleasing as worn through the day.

I used it after my usual cleanse and moisturizing protocol - AQ products.  While I am impressed by the list of ingredients and nothing seemed troubling with any of the listed items, the result is slightly vegetation-like in it's smell and a bit dry and chalky feeling. The medium tint was fine for my coloring- fair but not ivory.

My main objection to the product was that any type of makeup- mineral or no- tended to roll off with this product used as the base moisturizer.  I did some experimentation with other products that contain zinc oxide for the sunscreen and found that most did the same thing to a certain degree.  The Mukti was on the extreme end of that test and while the others that were better were not organic.

This could be an issue for me due to the slightly dry nature of my skin and so I would not completely throw this under the bus.  I would recommend it for someone with more normal skin who is very concerned about having organic products and not expecting a "cosmetically pleasing" product with typical cosmetic feel and smell.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to test this product.  It is always good to see organic items as a choice for shoppers. Let me know if you have any questions regarding this review.

I'm wondering if you ever wore it alone, without further make-up? I use Juice Beauty's CC cream with SPF 30 and it gives just slight coverage, more of a finished appearance than coverage. Would you say this is similar? I like the Mukti brand. Thanks.
