Naturaleve Instant Radiance Balm
“I received the Naturaleve Instant Radiance Balm over a week ago and couldn’t wait to try this since I am a big fan of paraben and preservative/fragrance-free products, and this is one. I am not sure if this is the time of year (summer) for me to be applying this because the texture was oily, not a light cream that I usually expect. When I checked the ingredients it was almost 100% oil extracts; yes they were all organic but I would not refer to this as a balm. With the temperatures hovering close to 100 degrees and the heat index at 112, applying a light covering of oil over my face only added to my feeling of melting. And this was before I even added any sunscreen! I am sure this product delivers on its promises on promoting a smooth radiant glow but December is the likely time I will give this a second try.”
Although balms are generally not as viscous as many creams are, this one probably feels a bit heavy because it is oil-based as opposed to containing water. I think the most powerful and also the one of the simplest ingredients in this product is olive oil, a strong antioxidant. Personally, I find olive oil to be one of those rare, ‘good for everything and everyone’ ingredients. Sophia Loren has always been beautiful, but she is particularly striking now, considering she is 76 years old. One of her beauty secrets? You guessed it: olive oil.
Overall, there’s really nothing not to like about Naturaleve Instant Radiance Balm ($29), except perhaps the fact that it probably shouldn’t be used during the heat wave that the majority of the United States is suffering through right now. Thanks for your review, Stef!
