Men's skin care products are finally getting more sophisticated and in 2008 expect to see products containing a new ingredient called SMS Energy.

Made in France by a company called Silab, SMS Energy is based on peptides extracted from chickpea seeds. Supposedly this ingredient will stimulate ATP - an enzyme that Wikipedia describes as the energy system in cells.

An in vitro test of a 1% solution on cells donated by male donors whose ATP levels were depleted showed an improvement of over 70%. In a second trial, a 4% solution on the skin of 20 male volunteers resulted in improved skin radiance amongst 75%.
