Eyelashes & Brows

The gods of long, lush lashes seem to be smiling on me right now (I recently had good test results with and Osmotics FNS Lash) and so I am embarking on my test of a free sample of Nutra-Lift Lash Reneu with high expectations. Especially as, so far, Nutra-Lift has generally delivered (Rejuvenating A Therapy is a great serum in its price range and Nutra-Lift is credited with restoring my faith in shampoos and conditioners).

Now the one thing that I couldn’t help but notice about Lash Renue is that the formula is extremely similar as another recently launched eyelash growth product called Cilea. In fact, it is very nearly the exact same formula. The only difference is that the ingredients are in a different order and Nutra-Lift doesn’t have (or doesn’t own up to) phenoxyethanol.

Nutra-Lift’s eyelash growth product is about $20 less expensive than Cilea, so if it works you know which one to buy. It will be interesting to see if it does indeed work as it has myristoyl pentapeptide, which looks to be closely related to the active ingredient in Pumpkin seed and vitamin B (here in various forms) are associated with hair growth as well. Neither formula contains the controversial prostaglandin active that is in Latisse, Lilash and Revitalash.

Some of the other ingredients are less obvious. Hesperidin methyl chalcone is a derivative of a flavenoid that is found in citrus fruit and is commonly used in eye creams to treat dark circles. The same is true of dipeptide-2 because its ability to help with lymphatic drainage is thought to reduce puffy eyes and dark circles. The next peptide is a skincare antiager, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, that is one of the ingredients in collagen boosting Matrixyl 3000.
