I’ve been interested in gold as a skincare ingredient ever since I came across it in Japanese line called Cosme Proud and Chantecaille’s Gold Energizing Cream.  Gold seems to give these cosmetic companies license to charge a king’s ransom ($100 and a whopping $420) and so I haven’t investigated it as much as I would like. Trust Nutra-Lift to come up with Rejuvenating A Nano Renue featuring 24 karat gold for just $46. And to have a different take, which I’ll come back to in a moment.

First, gold is no gimmck. It has a medicinal history going back to ancient times. Recently, gold salts (the ionic chemical compounds of gold) started to be used for injecting to reduce inflammatory conditions such as arthritis. More recently nanotechnology and gold have come together in medicine. For example, gold nano-bullets are being used, according to Science magazine, as a cure for cancer. And gold nano particles are employed to detect cancers and toxins (source).

Nutra-Lift Rejuvenating A Nano Renue ($48) actually has something called golden collagenine. This is a synthetic peptide that has been attached (or nanoconjugated as the manufacturer of this ingredient puts it) to gold particles.  So these nano gold particles act as the delivery system for a peptide that is supposed to have an impact on collagen production.  At a 0,3% dose, golden collagenine will boost collagen synthesis by over 200% and by over 150% at a 0.15% dose. I don’t know what the concentration used by Nutra Lift is.

Here, Nutra-Lift has nanoconjugated the gold with what it calls Anti-Aging Peptide-8 Complex. As you can see from the ingredients list below this peptide cocktail includes collagen boosting Matrixyl 3000 at 5% and Myristoyl Pentapeptide-8, the expression line inhibitor Argireline and Snap 8, and liposomes.

There are plenty of other goodies that are not twinned with gold, but still will potentially do a power of good for aging skin.  These include Nutra-Lift favorite alpha lipoic acid, marine extracts, milk thistle and yam.

Nutra-Lift’s products generally work well and provide great value for money. I’ll be trying my free sample of this over the coming weeks and will let you know if this time they have struck gold.

Thank you Deborah - you make a great point and we should start to make it clear if a serum needs moisturizing back up. And we'll start to work on devising a matrix/check list. In the meantime, I would say A Nano does need a moisturizer. Unless that is, you have oily skin (which is where the checklist idea breaks down a bit)....

Hi - I love this site and have bought a ton of products as a result (I love the customer service of Open Sky and YBF, by the way). BUT, I have a drawer of products that I don't feel I really know how to use. For instance, does this Nutra Lift product need to be followed by a moisturizer? I know it's asking alot but I think having a matrix of products organized into usage requirements would be helpful. So for instance, list all the serums you like and recommend in a column that says "Needs To Be Followed by Moisturizer". If there are others that don't, that can be used stand alone they go into another column...etc.
Just a suggestion for the application and memory impaired among us.

Well, I didn't much like this. I found it rather drying and so so stopped using it after four weeks and then started again to see if it really wasn't for me. It wasn't I'm going to post a full review this week.

Wow, I'm buying this one. The ingredients list is exciting and at an affordable price! The base is aloe vera and it gets better and better to the end.
News and reviews like this one is why I'm a faithful follower of TIA. Without TIA, I would not know of YBF, Faitox 25, etc. Thanks so much, Marta et al.

P.S. Marta, this product almost has it all. :-)

I've been waiting for this!! Been receiving Nutra Lift's emails regarding the upgrade of their Rejuvenating A and have been really interested. I like the old formula and it didn't make my oily/acne prone skin react negatively as some other readers (including you Marta) commented. Excited to hear how it performs for you~
