A few months ago, I attended the opening of the new Limelight Marketplace in New York. One of the great boutique shops was Om Aroma & Co, which had given out free samples of their Extrait de Caviar Eye Cream ($58). Of course, I had forgotten all about it until I recently I found it in a bag I hadn't used since that time. What a reunion! The Om Aroma & Co Extrait de Caviar was worth finding.

Om Aroma is an organic spa and skincare line that I had never heard of until that time. Although I didn't have time to chat with the store clerk, I did some research to find out it's three years old, and the products are free of parabens, formaldehyde, sulfates and other toxic chemical fillers. Om Aroma's main objective is anti-aging, so they have done extensive research on organic ingredients that have proven scientific results.

The Om Aroma & Co Extrait de Caviar is thick, scentless and, from use, feels great around the eye. The main ingredient here is CoQ-10, which helps strengthen and protect the skin from future damage. It's a great antioxidant that helps neutralize free radicals (one of the causes of anti-aging). Applying the cream is effective for those over 30 years old, as our levels of CoQ-10 decrease the older we get. As you know, we have lesser ability to naturally produce collagen, elastin and other skin molecules. So the CoQ-10 is important in repairing and regenerating. If nothing, it's helpful!

The caviar is also beneficial as it's rich in vitamins A, D, B1 and amino acids. It's also known to contain nucleic acids and proteins and a great source of marine DNA, which is a key element to skin cell regeneration. It's like collagen in your skin is cheating with this ingredient (in a good way!) by working twice as fast to firm skin.

I love all the botanical extracts involved, which are more than extras in this one-man show. Ginkgo biloba is one of my favorites, as is the carrot root, which penetrates deep to help soften.

All in all, Om Aroma Extrait de Caviar is a good find and a good eye cream.

Om Aroma has a perfectly brilliant list of ingredients, tho the key CoQ is nearly last- *sigh. I also like the price. Though it's set for the eyes, I think it could work elsewhere nicely. It could be a handy little worker bee. ~jk
