If you’re anything like me, you may have had a little too much sun this summer and are just starting to see the results: dark spots, uneven pigmentation, redness, broken capillaries. That’s a whole lot of payback for a carefree summer!
The opportunity to try Osmosis Age Defying Treatment Concealer ($29), which consists of an anti-aging moisture stick on one end and the color concealer on the other, couldn’t have happened at a better time now that this late-40s face of mine needed more concealing than ever! I pride myself on being a concealer expert: I’ve tried ’em all and I am picky.
My checklist for what makes a great concealer:
-creamy and easy to blend
-ability to hide dark circles, blemishes and dark spots
-matches my skin tone
-pleasant scent or fragrance free
I am happy to report that this product met every one of my criteria and then some! I was a little apprehensive about applying the moisture stick to my eye area. I have sensitive/dry skin, and I’ve become apprehensive about applying a treatment product or concealer to my eye area as I’ve often experienced irritation. The apricot kernel oil in the moisture stick end of the tube proved calming, cooling and moisturizing to my eye and lip area. The shea butter caused the moisture to absorb quickly so I didn’t have to wait to apply the concealer. The concealer couldn’t have been easier to blend and my eye area and redness appeared not only camouflaged, but my whole face looked brighter! I also used the concealer on my eyelids, which acted as a primer for my eye shadow. The best news is that the concealer lasted all day without moving. I used the product once a day, in the morning and after a light dusting of translucent loose powder to set the concealer, and I still looked fresh 10 hours later.
The scent of the product was very light and faintly citrus. Because the product is long-lasting and highly pigmented, after one month’s use I have a lot of product left! I can’t say for sure that my fine lines are diminished, but I feel like I found a new best friend and a place for Osmosis in my makeup bag for life.
