I was fortunate to get to try the Osmotics Blue Copper 5 Face Lifting Serum ($75) over the course of the last six weeks. As someone with sensitive, combination skin, I have a hard time finding the right balance with moisturizers and foundation; most products either dry me out (causing compensatory oil production) or clog my pores. Blue Copper 5 does neither. It is a very lightweight formula that glides on smoothly and leaves a matte finish without drying the skin. Before starting this product, I needed to use a primer under makeup, but I don’t need to do so with Blue Copper 5.
To be perfectly honest, the reviews on how the product firms and tightens skin made me leery about trying it. Other tightening serums and creams make my face feel uncomfortable at first and very shiny (not dewy!) within the hour. Blue Copper 5 does not do that. The tightening effect is subtle and not at all uncomfortable.
This brings me to the slight negative about the product. While I like it and am pleased with how it works on a daily basis, I'm not really seeing dramatic results. Perhaps I am not the target customer (early 40s, sensitive/blemish-prone skin, not many wrinkles). After I run out, I will track my skin's condition for a few weeks and make the call then — perhaps all the stress I've had recently would have aged me 10 years, but Blue Copper 5 saved me!
I had hoped for some firming through the mouth and jawline but did not notice much. Again, I like the product and may splurge on it again; the jury is still out.
