I was delighted to be chosen to try the Osmotics Blue Copper 5 Prime Eye ($135) range, as I've been really impressed with the results I've experienced with the Blue Copper 5 Prime Face, which I alternate with my MitoQ Serum ($119 in the shop) on my neck, forehead, "elevens", naso-labial and marionette lines. However I've  always struggled to find an eye product that was "just right" for me.

In the last couple of years I've tried a lot of eye creams and serums. Each has had its own strengths and weaknesses, but somehow none of them have quite hit the mark — varying from not being moisturizing enough to being too sticky or "pilling/flaking off" when you try to apply makeup over them.

So at this point I should probably mention (SPOILER ALERT!) that after using this product twice a day for just two weeks, I placed an order for my own Blue Copper 5 Prime Eye. You may, therefore, be able to surmise that I'm definitely planning on continuing to use this product after my sample pot has finished!

My first impression was excellent. It feels absolutely amazing applied to the skin! It's cooling, easily absorbed, moisturizing without feeling sticky and there is no dragging or pulling on the skin — it just glides on, leaving the skin feeling really smooth. This may be because it contains some silicones, which ideally I'd prefer weren't included. However, there's no residue left to interfere with subsequent makeup application, and I swear my eyes appear as though they have been lightly airbrushed!

After two months of using it morning and night, I estimate I still have approximately two weeks left. I think at $98 for .5 oz/15ml this compares very favorably with the other eye serums I've tried. Part of my reason for waiting longer than just a four week trial before writing my review was that I was a little concerned that I might have been still "surfing the wave" of any benefits I'd accrued from the previous products I tried, and their effects on the skin around my eyes might still be lingering. I'm now pretty sure that isn't the case.

I don't have many lines, but I'd like to keep it that way! One of my reasons for wanting to try this serum was the hoped for side-effect from the two copper peptides on my eyelash growth. I've been on a very high dosage of Thyroxine for many years, to treat my Hypothyroidism (under-active Thyroid gland). One of the symptoms of an under-active Thyroid is thinning hair, and unfortunately, the Thyroxine tablets I'm taking can also cause hair to thin (oh great!). I've had some very positive results from using Truth Vitality Advanced Complex with Copper Peptides ($59-79 in the shop) on my scalp, but I've never tried anything to treat my eyelashes and eyebrows before.

The effect was distinctly noticeable to me after a few weeks, and I was amazed last week when I had a really good look at my eyes with the dreaded magnifying mirror (something I usually avoid like the plague!). My eyelashes have filled-out, are longer and appear to be darker in color. But what was a real surprise was that I actually needed to tidy up the shape of my eyebrows with a pair of tweezers because of the new growth — I literally can't remember the last time I needed to do this! Another major plus has been my upper eyelids, which are looking distinctly perkier! My eyes don't feel uncomfortably tight, just "well supported" and less droopy (yay!).

I keep forgetting that this product has been specifically developed for menopausal skin. It's my 42nd birthday this week, and at present I've yet to face that particular hormonal hurdle! But I definitely feel the Osmotics Blue Copper 5 Prime range has something to offer women of any age. Several of the ingredients are designed to boost collagen and elastin production in post-menopausal skin, but also to increase firmness, elasticity and tone, and to fade dark circles and discoloration — problems we all face.

I think the only thing missing from this product is the inclusion of a growth factor. However, I'm prepared to alternate this with the AQ Skin Solutions Eye Serum ($99 in the shop) if I find I miss this ingredient long-term, although I haven't yet! As I'd already ordered the newly re-formulated Your Best Face Correct eye cream before I knew I'd been chosen to trial the Osmotics Blue Copper 5 Prime Eye, I will probably try the new YBF Correct for a few weeks, and I'll let you know how they compare!
