I will be reaching one of the monumental ages this summer – 60 – and feel great about it. I have always enjoyed beauty products since I can remember, beginning with Ponds, Oil of Olay and then onto department store products and then the heavy hitters – Murad, SkinCeuticals and my favorites these days AQ Skin Solutions and E’shee (because I found TIA and Marta).
I would describe my skin as showing signs of aging, but it responds well to good products. I am on the drier side and can use oils without the threat of breakouts. I do have freckles and some hyperpigmentation, mostly on my hands and legs from being a baby oil sun bather in my teens and early 20s.
I was aware of Osmotics and felt the line was well thought out, so I was open to trying the Micro Peel Resurfacing System ($86). My expectations were that it would brighten and lighten my skin, and diminish lines over time.
The trial was a night regime for four weeks with a three-step process. The instructions were easy to follow, and the process was not lengthy. After the first time I used the set, I wondered if I was seeing things or did my skin actually look brighter. Second night – no, I was not imagining it, my skin did look clearer… clarifying action was happening.
On the third night, I noticed a little tightening effect. I followed the product’s instructions, which said to use every night for about a week. I did start to see irritation and felt drier, so I alternated nights. I was still more dry than I would have liked, so I started to use the Resurfacing System as a weekly peel and that worked better. I especially liked the charcoal mask for the brightening and lightening effect. I did research on the ingredients and found the following questionable: Phenoxyethanol, Ceteareth-20 and Lauramidoyl Inulin.
Overall, I enjoyed the product and the longer I used it, the greater the brightening effects I saw. I would purchase this in the future and use as a weekly peel. I have tried other Osmotics products and feel they deliver in a quiet, steady way.
