Pangea Egyptian Fennel with Grapefruit & Sweet Orange Lip Balm

It's that time of season when my lips are becoming more and more chapped, and that's not even with the heater turned on full blast yet. One good thing comes out of this: lip balm! While I'm pretty particular (I know some girls like that glossy look), I always, by default, go for something more on the organic side. After all, the ointment you're applying is on your lips, close to your mouth, so the last thing you want to do is get a bunch of chemicals on there. With that said, I'm a fan of Pangea's Egyptian Fennel with Grapefruit & Sweet Orange Lip Balm.

Pangea Organics is super eco-friendly. In fact, portions of their profits go to researching and teaching sustainable living. Their products are handcrafted, organic, fair trade and you'll never find sulfates or detergents, synthetic preservatives or fragrances. Pangea Egyptian Fennel with Grapefruit & Sweet Orange Lip Balm is chockfull of essential oils that keep your lips super hydrated and soothed. It's heavy on the citrus side for those who like that. There's that subtle flavor when you apply it. Best of all, pink grapefruit oil has great antioxidant properties and sweet orange is ripe with vitamins, so there's added benefit. Sunflower seed oil and beeswax add to the hydration, locking in moisture. The bohemian in me likes the hemp seed oil, which is a great omega fatty acid that actually gives the slight luster in our lips. It's also known to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, thanks to the fatty acids, for those who want an additional benefit (benefits abound with this lip balm!).

Pangae Egyptian Fennel with Grapefruit & Sweet Orange Lip Balm is a little pricey ($8-12) but knowing it's for a good cause, it's almost like a donation to the environment where you get a free lip balm out of it. That's how I like to look at it.

My boys lips get very chapped. I've tried a few different natural brands except they all seem to have peppermint oil in them and the peppermint really stings their lips. Grapefruit is very acidic did you find it to sting your lips at all? Even a slight stinging for an adult feels pretty intense for a child.
