Is a Solution for:
Dull Skin, Oily Skin, Face Care for Men

When it comes to skincare products, I like to stick to the philosophy of "less is best." When a face wash is crammed with ingredients (many of which are unnecessary), I get a little dubious. I just want simple (maybe it has to something to do with the Japanese traditions of moderation, which is so ideal). Thankfully I got my hands on Pevonia for Men Aqua-Gel Foaming Cleanser ($38), which is condensed with gentle and effective (and minimal) ingredients that all improve your skin.

Pevonia is a spa-based skincare line that focuses on organic extracts in their products, which are all paraben free, alcohol free, lanolin free and mineral oil free. In my experience, my male friends don't even look at these factors when buying their face wash, so it's good to know Pevonia just happens to be good for them. My only gripe from giving this product a full A+ is that two top ingredients  are sodium C14-16 Olefin sulfonate (often tagged with sodium lauryl sulfate but an alternative if anything) and sodium lauryoyl oat amino acids. As you know, while primary cleansing agents, these ingredients are known to be mild irritants but its considerably argued that they remain so briefly on your skin it can't have too much of an impact. So unless you fall asleep in the shower with this cleanser lathered on your face, you are most likely in the clear from major damage.

Pevonia Aqua-Gel Foaming Cleanser is a nice, crisp cleanse, with a rich lather and natural, uplifting scent (the lather can be explained by the sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate, which, again to its defense, does bring all the dirt and grime out to the surface).

The compromise for the slack the two ingredients get is that Pevonia Aqua-Gel Foaming Cleanser is chockfull of great botanical extracts. One of the more unfamiliar is saponaria officinalis root extract, which is a terrific cleansing agent and helps with major skin problems like psoriasis and eczema. There's also patchouli stimulates new cell growth and has astringent properties that tone and revitalize the skin. Green tea and lavender are also great additions for soothing, calming and healing.

Water (aqua), sodium C14-15 Olefin Sulfonate, sodium lauroyl oat amino acids- avena sativa (oat), glycerin, polysorbate 20, camella sinensis (green tea) leaf extract, caprylic/acpric triglyceride, methyl glucose dioleate, saponaria officinalis root extract, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) flower extract, pogostemon cablin (patchouli) leaf extract, lippia citriodora (lemon verbena) flower extract, phenoxyethanol, citric acid, capryl glycol, ethylhexylglycerin, hexylene glycol.
