Its potent antioxidant properties work to minimize signs of aging from free radicals, but it does not seem ideal for reversing damage that is already done

Pros

Hydrates, softens and smooths skin

Cons

Did not improve deep-set lines and wrinkles

I am truly the definition of a "wrinkle junkie." By that I mean that I have to try all of the latest and greatest products and am willing to spend quite a fortune on finding the Fountain of Youth. I’m 47 years old, and from the ages of 16 through 25, I sunbathed and frequented tanning beds. During those ages, I also smoked cigarettes and drank lots of alcohol. Needless to say, my skin took the brunt of the abuse.

However, after having my first child, dropped those habits and noticed how old my skin looked. It was then that I started taking care of my skin. Because I definitely suffer from OCD, I take everything to the extreme. My first purchase of products claiming to erase wrinkles cost me about $3,000 and included the regulars (e.g. sunscreen, face wash, serums, creams, etc.). I’ve continued using expensive products and would estimate that I spend approximately $700 to $1,000 per month on beauty products.

With all of that said, I welcomed the opportunity to test and review Replenix Restorative Nighttime Bio-Therapy ($73). It is a nourishing night cream that promises to promote the appearance of youthful-looking skin at relatively decent price point. I read that the product contains apple and peptide-derived stem cells, which I have found effective for wrinkles in some of my other skin-care products. Additionally, it has antioxidant-rich resveratrol (which I take orally in my vitamin regimen) and green tea polyphenols. Ceramides and hyaluronic acid are included to hydrate and plump up skin.

I applied the cream every night immediately after washing my face. My skin has always been very dry, and I did find that this moisture-rich cream helped to combat dryness and keep my skin supple. But I cannot say I was blown away with the results on my face, as I did not notice a significant difference in wrinkles or fine lines. However, my neck and décolletage area did appear to be smoother and looked and felt softer to the touch.

It should be noted that for the price of the product, which is not as expensive as most nighttime treatments, it may be worth using for a longer period of time.  I would recommend for younger women, who have not drastically abused their skin and do not already have a lot of skin damage.
