I was recently approached by the publicist for a company called Hemloq. The odd spelling caught my attention as did the emphasis on natural and effective ingredients. I have been test driving Citrus Scrub and there is a lot to recommend.
This scrub is unusual in that it has a creamy texture - very different from those pasty, clay types. And, unlike many scrubs, it washes off easily. It has a lovely tangy smell that is a great start to the day. In my experience, Hemloq Scrub draws out white heads and closes pores beautifully. Best of all, it is truly gentle and seems to actually reduce redness.
Hemloq's products are notable for what isn't in them as much as what is. There are no synthetics, parabens, sulfates or ureas. On the other hand, I like the fact that this is a scrub with antioxidants such as green tea and vitamins C, A and E. Jojoba beads provide the scrubbing action.
The only caveat I would add is that I find Citrus Scrub a little drying. Hemloq claims that "it is great for drier skin types", but I found that I needed to follow with a smear of pure aloe vera.
