Reviewed and recommended: Intelligent Nutrient's Lip Delivery Nutrition

How many times a day to you lick your lips? A lot, right?  Now think about this: we ingest lip products every time we lick our lips.

Makes sense then that we want to be careful about what we put on our smackers. Intelligent Nutrient's Lip Delivery Nutrition lip balm is certified organic by the USDA, and is full of potent anti-aging ingredients.

What I like about this formula is that its trademarked super-antioxidant seed oil complex comprises 20% of the total composition of the lip balm, and includes: black cumin, pumpkin, red grape, red raspberry, and cranberry seed oil. While all of these ingredients are rich in fatty acids and natural emollients (all working to treat fine lines and moisture loss), one ingredient is particularly beneficial to the lips. Red raspberry seed oil provides a much-needed layer of SPF protection to your lips (some studies have shown it to have an SPF from 28 to 50), which is important because this is one part of the body that we often neglect to protect and so is much more susceptible to the photo-aging effects of the sun.

My steady chapstick thus far has been the wonderful Burt's Bee's Wax. Like Burt's, this balm has a pleasant vanillamint flavor; but, unlike Burt's, I've noticed that the conditioning effect is much more penetrating and has less of a heavy feel on your lips. While both include coconut oil and sunflower seed oil, Intelligent Nutrient also includes castor, palm kernel, rose hip and nutmeg kernel seed oil to good effect.

There's a lot to love about this balm, and if you've got $17 bucks to burn on chapstick then consider this the best on the market. The only things that I wish were missing were eugenol (which some studies show may be "highly cytoxic at concentrations as low as 0.03%," and limonene (possibly cytoxic at concentrations of 0.25%).

Beeswax, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut OIl), Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Red Grape) Seed Oil, Vaccinium Macrocapron (Cranberry) Seed Oil, Ricinis Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Elaeis Guaneesis (Palm) Kernel Oil, Rubus Idaeus (Red Raspberry) Seed Oil, Curcubita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil, Rosa Rubignosa (Rose Hip) Seed Oil, Nigella Sativa (Black Cumin) Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Vanilla Plantififolia Fruit Oil, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Natural Orange Mint Flavor, Mentha Arvensis (Corn Mint) Leaf Oil, Myristica Fragrans (Nutmeg) Kernel Oil, Limonene, Eugenol, Isoeugenol, Tocopherol (Vitamin E).
