Reviewed and Recommended: REVOLUTION Organics Freedom Gloss

Goopy lip gloss is one of my biggest makeup pet peeves: is anything less attractive than lint, hair, and food crumbs plastered to your lips under a shiny veneer? I won’t name names, but some brands of gloss are so magnetic to foreign objects that I have given up on them completely. No matter how pretty and shimmery a color may be, if my hair ends up stuck to my lips when the wind picks up beyond 5 mph, I’m not going to use it.

REVOLUTION Organics is not one of those brands. Their newly released Freedom Gloss, a slick formula that is not only almost-goop-free, but also all-natural and good for the environment, is a standout combination in the increasingly crowded lip gloss market.

It is made from 85% certified organic ingredients that contain no synthetics, chemicals, parabens, sulphates, artificial ingredients, or petrochemicals. It also contains Vitamin E and aloe, my favorite natural salve. The jojoba oil, olive oil, and shea butter deliver natural moisture, and beeswax helps protect lips without drying them out. You really can feel good about putting this formula on your lips.

But this gloss is not just good for you, it looks great, too. The colors are vibrant, the texture is slick, and the effect is tres glam. Its staying power is above average, too. I’ve never met a gloss that managed to stay on all day, or even half a day, so I was happy with the several hours that the Freedom Gloss gave me.
The packaging is good for the environment as well. It’s made entirely from recycled materials using vegetable-based ink. All Revolution Organics products are free of fillers, including water, so each product delivers more per ounce, so we the consumers end up using less.

It’s a winning combo, and one that won’t leave you with foreign objects stuck to your lips.
