Reviewed and rejected: Bumble & Bumble Curl Conscious Conditioner

April 13, 2008 Reviewed by Marta 0 Comments

I am not a huge fan of Bumble & Bumble products (although the hair powder works well for in between shampoos), but I gave the Curl Conscious Conditioner a try after being sent some trial samples. It wasn't a good idea. Within a couple of hours my scalp was itching as if it had been attacked by mosquitoes.

There are any number of culprits in this chemical-rich product. I would put my money on stearalkonium chloride. This is used to untangle hair. It was originally invented for fabric softener and is known to be toxic and an irritant. It is also believed to cause long term damage to hair. B&B Curl Conscious Conditioner also has a few other irritants thrown in for good measure: BHT, cetyl ethylhexanoate, panthenol and behentrimonium chloride.

I didn't do much for my curls either. All in all, a bad product with great packaging.
