Now that I'm in my 30s, I am keener to try anti-aging products that target my major concerns in the eye area, namely fine lines and dark circles. A good eye cream is hard to find, and I'm quite picky with what I use because I want long lasting results.
The Royal Nectar Bee Venom Eye Cream ($35 in the shop) is made in New Zealand and boasts of natural ingredients. It includes manukah honey and bee venom, which act together to tighten, firm and lift the delicate eye area. It was my first time trying something with bee venom in it and I was curious to see how it would work.
My skin is dry-combination and I have premature wrinkles around the eyes, which are also prone to dryness, thus I need an eye cream that is moisturizing as well.
The eye cream is quite pleasant to use. It has a light texture and the smell is sweet and pleasant. Once applied, it acts immediately to give the skin a lifting effect, and I do feel my skin tighten immediately after use. I used it day and night for 4 weeks to see if it delivered its promises.
After one month of consistent usage, my skin is visibly firmer around the eye area and the lines are less noticeable. However, it does not address my dark circles, which is fine because I wanted a firming/lifting eye cream in the first place. I also want to note that because of its light texture, it does not provide enough moisture if your eye area is dry. But for firming and lifting effects, it is fabulous. The ingredients are natural and organic as well, so that also works as a plus for me. I would recommend this to anyone who is experiencing the first signs of aging around the eye area.
