I was so excited to get started testing the Royal Nectar Original Face Mask ($65, in the shop), with bee venom and manuka honey. I opened the jar and observed the cream had a medium consistency and the scent of honey. I stirred it around really well and the yummy aroma of honey burst into the room. I applied a generous amount of the cream to my face and then another scoop to my neck and décolleté. I noticed the cream was turning white, so I decided to massage the cream in a little more. I could feel a little “sting” for about 20 or 30 seconds. The sting went away and so did the white color. After about 10 minutes, the mask seemed to feel taut but not like it would crack. I left it on for 20 minutes, then rinsed it off. It rinsed easily and left no residue behind. I looked and felt refreshed.

I used the mask every evening for four days, then cut back to two or three times a week. The mask performed well every time I used it, but I did not see the need to use it every day. While there does not seem to be a cumulative effect, the “refreshed” look is there each time I have used the mask. I have 55-year-old skin that has really begun to sag a lot over the last year. The mask has had no impact on my turkey neck, but it does seem to perk up the areas around my eyes and jowls.

My skin is not dry and it tends to be somewhat oily in the T-zone area; so, I was expecting the avocado, tocopherol, apricot kernel, rose hip, evening primrose, manuka, and lavender “oils” to leave my face looking like an oil slick. Instead, my skin was perfectly hydrated and felt very comfortable!

I love this mask! It does what I expect it to do every time I use it.
