by Karen P.

When asked if I would test and review a great product from a fabulous line, the Sciote Micro Derm Crème ($60 in the shop), I eagerly awaited for it to arrive. I have been fortunate to have reviewed several products that Truth in Aging has offered and each one has been a “home run, out of the park” experience. I’ve added each item to my arsenal of skin care products, as I rotate through a regimen that keeps my skin in top shape, glowing, smooth and virtually wrinkle-free!

Well into my fifth decade, I have dry to normal skin, drier in the winter months, but definitely with the humidity in the spring and summer, I need to change up my skin care regimen and routine.

I expected this product to deliver great exfoliation that was gentle enough to scrub away dead skin cells, minimize my pores, remove blackheads and leave me with skin prepped for the next steps of my routine: toner, serum, eye cream (please do not use this product around the eyes), SPF and moisturizer.

This mighty product is full of “punch”! I have to say, my expectations were exceeded in that a little bit goes a very long way in the use of this product. The sensation, upon putting this on my face and gently rubbing in a circular motion, was grainy, but in a good way— it felt like it was at work. The Sciote Micro Derm Crème was not abrasive, even after one to two minutes on my skin. After rinsing, my face felt invigorated, glowing and ready for the next steps in my skin care routine. I use this twice a week to maintain my glowing skin and reduce/minimize pores.

Based upon information found on the Sciote site and more so, TIA’s incredible volume of information, Micro Derm Crème contains mostly natural ingredients, which include:

  • 4 % shea butter
  • Hemp seed oil, which has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and also helps reduce pore size, blackheads and acne.
  • Grapeseed oil, which is a natural antioxidant, rich in vitamin E and also moisturizing.
  • Jojoba oil, which has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties.
  • Natural emollients such as capric triglycerides and vegetable glycerin, which are soothing, skin conditioning agents.

The Sciote Advanced Micro Derm Crème comes in a 4-oz jar, so with the once or twice a week usage, it will probably last at least six months or more…I would say more, as I have had to use very little of this product to achieve GREAT results! This product is a “steal” for the price you pay and the results obtained.

Does it do what it says it will do? YES!!! I would not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone, with the exception of those who have sensitive skin. This product is a winner!
