A gel that effectively treats skin ailment

Healing antioxidant complex

When I experience breakouts, I've settled into a routine of treating them, not always very effectively, with Medik8 Beta Gel & Stratum C Spot Relief overnight. After a few days this eventually clears them up, but my 44 year-old skin is left very dry, flaky & red as a result. I've fallen into a rut & fixated with using one product for one problem alone, so my initial aim after being chosen for the Seaside Medical Post-Traumatic Response Gel ($25) with MatrX B trial was to see if it could specifically help heal the aftermath of using harsh anti-spot treatments.

Boy, I can't quite believe now, retrospectively, just how narrowly focused & limited my expectations were for this product! In fact, I must admit when I first started my 30 day trial I was left a little underwhelmed & disappointed, until I reassessed how to apply this product, & stepped out from my comfort zone to embrace tackling my skincare woes WITHOUT my usual ingrained "blemish treatment protocol"; & I haven't looked back since!

Before the Post-Traumatic Response Gel even arrived, I visited the Seaside Medical website and I was completely blown away by the list of ingredients. There are no nasty preservatives, no fillers, absolutely nothing extraneous or potentially problematic for sensitive, damaged or inflamed skin. Seaside Medical only uses safe, vegan & effective natural plant-based ingredients engineered to deliver an influx of organic nutrients which increases the skin's own rapid-repair mechanism, achieving a faster recovery & natural pain relief.

There are several articles on the Seaside Medical website, including two written by Dr. Stacy Matthews, that are particularly useful in explaining how harsh, topical antibiotic first aid ointments, & traditional blemish treatments containing benzoyl peroxide or alcohol, can actually be harming our skin by destroying its natural biofilm.

Nasimeh Yazdani, MD., founder of Seaside Medical Technologies, developed this highly concentrated transparent, amber-hued gel, infused with her MatrX B Anti-Inflammatory Complex, a proprietary blend of astaxanthin (an antioxidant 1000 times more powerful than vitamin C), witch hazel (for treating cuts) and arnica Montana (for inflammation and bruising).

The list of beneficial ingredients doesn't stop there. Cucumber Hydrosol contains antioxidants, silica, manganese & potassium. MSM (Methyl Sulfonyl Methane) is also well known in the beauty industry for its anti-inflammatory & anti-aging actions, Next up we have L-Arginine, an essential amino acid with a pivotal role in wound healing. There are also useful and therapeutic plant extracts.

One of these is dandelion - high in a multitude of nutrients. Dandelion literally helped save the life of a rescue dog I was fostering a few years ago, who had terrible skin allergies & atopic dermatitis.  So I was delighted to find this ingredient in a skincare product. (BTW, that dog was classed as a "failed foster", as I decided to adopt her myself, rather than returning her back to the rescue charity for rehoming, once she was back on her paws!)

I had intended to use this product to repair the damage caused by the treatments I habitually use to tackle any hormonal blemishes. But one night I decided to ditch my usual spot cream, & instead I applied a little dollop of gel to the site of a newly developing blemish, letting it dry on my skin (this usually takes only a few minutes max to absorb) before going to bed. I awoke to find the spot had been completely stopped in its tracks (YES!!).

Also, after a recent eye exam, within hours I started to suffer with a severely irritated right eyelid. Now I must stress the directions included with the Post-Traumatic Response Gel clearly state NOT to get this product in your eyes, but I'm nothing if not a maverick (& desperate!), & I didn't fancy waiting several days for an appointment with my GP. So in the name of science, I decided to carefully apply a little blob of gel to my eyelid, keeping my eye closed until it was fully absorbed. The pain relief was immediate; it was cooling & soothing, with zero stinging. A few hours later I applied it again before bed and by the next morning amazingly it was completely healed! I've honestly never experienced a product work so fast on a condition that was really terribly painful, and it only needed two applications to totally resolve the problem.

There seems to be an enormous variety of conditions this product can successfully tackle, including, but not limited to:  muscle aches and pains, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel; skin abrasions, cuts, bruises, burns, insect bites, rashes, eczema, psoriasis, blemishes, cystic acne, hormonal breakouts, scarring and inflammation. It should be applied up to three times a day on clean skin, enough to cover the area being treated. Absorption occurs in 2-3 minutes, which allows the rich compounds to encapsulate the damaged skin. It can be used on children aged 3+.

The gel is extremely cooling on contact, doesn't sting in any way at all (even on broken skin) & is easily absorbed leaving no residue. There's a slight natural, earthy aroma, which I rather like, but it dissipates very quickly. I'm very sensitive to overpowering fragrances - I even have to plan my route around the local shopping mall to avoid an aggressively pervasive scented candle shop! - so believe me when I say the MatrX B Post-Traumatic Response Gel definitely passed my version of the "sniff" test! Another consideration is that although this transparent gel has a light amber color, it leaves no discernible discoloration after application, even on my excessively pale skin!

So basically, this product is a multi-tasking, skin healing, first aid genius hero! If you buy it for one condition, I guarantee you'll soon find that you're using it for so much more. It's extremely concentrated & potent, so a little really does go a long way, & the 30ml tube has lasted me well over 2 months. Definitely, absolutely recommended!
