A rich moisturizer for parched, winter skin

The transition from summer to winter skin always makes me thirst for a great body lotion. No longer is a light tan detracting from imperfections. The central heating has just started to kick in, I am wearing heavier clothes and my skin is feeling itchy and dry and screaming to be taken on a tropical vacation. With no hedonistic trips in the sun planned, I have the next best thing: SenZen’s Sealed And Delivered Body Lotion ($44 in the TIA shop).

I think it is the light but lush smell of mango (from the seed butter) that transports me from autumnal New York to a beach wafted by a soft, tropical breeze. SenZen’s Sealed And Delivered is a rich body lotion that leaves the skin feeling velvety and nourished. Whilst it is perfect for this time of year and the harsher winter months to come, I suspect that this is not for the heat of summer – this is one of those lotion’s that requires a few moments to really sink into the skin.

Once it is, so to speak, fully Sealed and Delivered, the impressive array of ingredients will hopefully be doing their thing. I particularly appreciate bacillus ferment, which is an unusual exfoliant. It is a bacteria with the ability to secrete a large number of enzymes that make their way into detergents and in cosmetics as an exfoliant. Bacillus ferment is supposed to be gentler than alpha hydroxy acids and confines itself to removing only dead skin cells.

Like SenZen’s eye cream, this contains dipalmitoyl hydroxyproline, a peptide that tackles wrinkles, supposedly performing better than vitamin C. There is antioxidant acai and wound-healing passion flower, as well as omega-rich flax seed extract. With all this and much more, I am prepared to overlook the inclusion of talc and phenoxyethanol (both controversial ingredients that are believed to be carcinogenic), although I hope they will be switched out one day in the future.  All in all, though fully Sealed and Delivered lives up to this new brand’s high standards.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Propanediol, Prunus, Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Simmonsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Theobroma Grandifkorum (Cupuacu) Fruit Extract, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Hydrolyzed Cottonseed Protein, Dipalmitayl Hydroxyproline, Passiflora Edulis (Passion Fruit) Seed Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice Bran) Oil, Euterpe Oleracea (acai) Pulp Oil, Orbignya Oleifera (Babassu) Seed Oil, Silk Amino Acids, Panthenol, Jojoba Esters, Sodium Hyaluronate, SENZEN Energized Liposomal Blend, Camellia Oleifera (Green Tea) Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf (White Tea) Extract, Aspalathus Linearis (Red Tea) Extract, Bacillus Ferment, Montmorillonite (Trace Minerals), Linum Usitatissimum (Flax) Seed Extract, Anthemis Nobillis (Roman Chamomile) Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Polyacrylate-13, Polyisobutene, Polysorbate 20, Talc, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance (Parfum), Ferric Ferrocyanide (Cl 77510), D&C Red No. 30 (CI 73360)

Ok then....glad to hear my requests aren't obnoxious as that is always my worry. I mean, you run this blog, you run the TIA store, it sounds like you're rather social, you travel, and I think you have a "day job" too. In other words, you're busy...

Off topic: I am LOVING the SenZen Infinity cream- and the osmotics Necollete seems to be a winner too.

Stephanie, this is getting spooky. For the last couple of weeks, I have been thinking about a Five Best body lotion update. Will do this in the next day or two. I am half way through my SenZen bottle and really liking it still.

    Marta,
I've been using the SenZen infinity cream per your recommendation, and it seems to be working well for me, as of 1 week of use. I mention this as I just came to the TIA site in search of a body lotion. This one sounds great and as soon as I gather the funds as I am still unemployed :( I am going to try it.

This review appears to be the most recent body cream mentioned on the site. Any new body lotions/treatments on the horizon?

    Thanks as always,
    Stephanie
